Make Easy Money from Shopping at Thrift Stores

You need to educate yourself on vintage costume jewelry. I am making some good extra income selling costume jewelry online. Shipping is cheap because it's not heavy, and you will be amazed at what folks will pay for authentic pieces in good condition. I just recently sold a 77 piece lot on our ebay account that I put together for about 400 dollars....it went for 1650. But I know what to look for because I've educated myself on it. Vintage designer jewelry is what you want, with little or no damage or missing stones. If you have the exact type of stone and can replace it,(without leaving a glob of glue the size of a bee hive) go ahead and buy the piece. There's a website.. google Delizza and Elster education website. These are unsigned pieces that are worth more than many of the signed pieces. Learn to identify them and scoop them up. You'll have to learn the rest on your own. And that is Stoney's financial tip for the day. You're welcome.

good idea stoney, you and my grandma would love each other
I've been doing pretty good so far. Vintage board games like hero quest sell for about 70 in good condition...fancy brand name cookware, san juan capistrano old mission pottery....seriously, you'd be amazed.

Edited. This big ugly son of a gun is has 8 days left and is already going for 30. It probably wont go for much more, but the very fact that someone wants to wear this monstrosity boggles my mind.

I would buy that necklace for $30... It's a wonderful piece if you have any type of style or any idea on how to use it.

You'll find it, there's only a few. It's the only one with a bid and a red background. It's my boyfriends account so I don't want to post here.

Is the Mississippi flooding where you are at?
Also, how do you know that Brooch is set in Rhodium?
Rhodium currently sells for about $60 a gram, if it really were set in Rhodium it would be worth far more to a gold or silversmith. Rhodium also used by jewelers to plate other metals, so it does not need to be refined to be worth anything.

No, it was for a while.

I guess I should have clarified, it's rhodium plate, but folks who buy vintage know that. Thanks for pointing it out, I went back and made it specific. Anyway, back when this brooch was made they were doing a lot of rhodium plating on jewelry, and D&E, who made it, used that finish a lot. You can tell because rhodium plate is shiny white and pretty damn durable, it lasts a long time and doesn't wear as easily as other plating. Here's some more info on it. http://blog.rubylane.com/node/254

I just bought 3 cargo khaki's, stovepipe jeans, and 2 cargo khaki shorts, from a %50 of goodwill day. The shorts were the wrong size and if i gave a shit I could have saved $3 but for $15 that's less than I'd pay for 1 pair of Cargo pants from wally world.

And if you can't wear them, you might be able to sell them.

I got 2 pairs of jeans (Almost new) and 2 polo (Real polo) shirts for a grand total of $1.50 from one of the local thrift stores. Saved myself about $120.

This is truly interesting. I constantly try to think of products that this would be possible with. Idk if costume jewellery is for me, simply because I don't take natural interest in it. But it's definitely something to consider. Thanks for getting the brain goin lol.

Incidentally, thrift stores are great places to find grow equipment too. I bought a metal mixing bowl I'm gonna buff out with a buffing drill head and then shove a socket into from a lamp I bought too. $3 for a DIY CFL hood.

That's a great idea. I'm about to throw together a ghetto aluminum cooking pan mod as a hood. Probably the worst option available, but I gotta save coin atm.
