..........notice how everything in the center of the plants is pruned out to make a nice open space for the leads to grow back into and fill the canopy perfectly.

It all looks great, and I've done it myself before with amazing results,
but I have one question.

I don't see why you prune off the Fan leaves though,
especially when they're not blocking new branches.
I honestly think it's rediculous.. On your "16" girls,
you could easily have tons more foliage in between the three branches,
I bet they'd veg a few times faster.

i only remove the fans off the stems i do not want to stretch anymore.....when i am happy with the structure.......if you notice on the pic above, the fans are left on the stems i want to stretch, because they help power everything above the node they are attatched to......it is just a control technique, in the beginning, when i was building structure, i was not looking for tons of foliage, just focused energy into the leaders i wanted to grow, but now that the structure is built, it is balls to the wall, and they won't get pruned until after the third week of flower.......i don't seem to have a problem with veg times....they seem pretty fast to me....thanks for your imput.....nugs

here is a pic of my bonzai girls......they were cloned (born), on Feb 1st (date of actual cutting)......this pic was taken on Mar 28th.....57 days later......10 days for roots, 35 days of veg, and 12 days of flower......to me, that is fast as hell......a fan leaf only powers the stem from the node it is attatched too, to the node above it.......so in bonzai, if you are happy with the growth of that particular stem section, it can be removed without much sacrifice of grow to the whole in general......peace, nugs

.....here is another point when it comes to vegging clones for speed........you know when you veg out a clone, and often it gets all haggard looking, with random growth, single blades, whorled leaves etc.....you can actually remove most of that weird growth, and she will revert to normal growth in a matter of days, instead of weeks.....like in this pic.....in 7-10 days, these girls will look like normal plants........ because all the abnormal growth that was affected by the hormonal shift was removed, and the plant focuses only on the growth that is normal.

....so inevitably we are going to have a few leaders that are stretchier than others, esp ones in the center of the canopy, so a little super-cropping may come in handy.....just be sure to water 15 minutes before any bending, and give that stem a good pinch before folding over to prevent snap-age!...

Beautiful man! What a great suggestion about watering 15 mins before supercropping, last year I tried it without watering (except the night before) and severely damaged one of the main branches that never recovered.

This is a fun thread to follow, nugbuckets. I have a few sprouts and some seeds soaking, incl. AoS- I must give it a try.

I love your plant structure! I do scrog, and I get side branches to produce buds nearly as big as the Mains.
I think if I trimmed all my popcorn and undergrowth out, it would look very similar to your canopy, except for more branches under the screen.
Would you say mainlining is best for height management or is it intended to boost yields? (as compared to untrained growing.?)

i would say yield first, mostly for the lack of popcorn, and big donkey dick colas....then height/support management...

Ill be trying it on a couple in the next few days. I always like trying out something different. I look forward to big buds and less trimming :)

....so things are moving fast for "8", she is 3 days into 12/12, and growing about 1 1/2in. per day........today it was time to choose which heads will be inside the hoop, and which ones outside...i left four tops inside the 16 in. dia hoop, and four out.......a little super-cropping on the middle heads, and she was good to go.......i will post a pic tomorrow when she perks up......she really is impressive.....i hope very much for her to be dank.
