Hey! What's up RIU ??

So here we go with the Sour Tangie #6 (again :D ) from outdoor of last year. A stacking of 240 pics at 10:1. This pics was really difficult for editing, long process, the software have some difficulty , too many transparent part. Some trichome head look so psychedelic, i love that :P there is some magic inside...

And for finish, the Jack Herer, i don't remember if it's #3 or #5, that's a stacking of 152 pics at 22:1, this one was difficult too for editing, it's look like there is some fog in front of, it's because there is some trichome before the one we can see, it's some outfocus trichome ( don't knnow if i'm explain well lol ). That's some huge building, jack herer trichome are so huge !

Hi there !

I hope that everbody feel good at the end of the year ! Long time that i don't post something here, i didn't find some job, but i don't have time, always edit photography, growing, shooting, eating, sleeping and then repeat :D

I get my first customers , but i will tell you more when everything will be ok.

Ok so here we go for some macro.

Starting with the Jack Herer with a stacking of 81 pics at 20:1. It's crazy because the trichome of the Jack Herer are the bigger that i shoot. And it's the only strain where i get some nice iceolator on the 120 screen.

jh 81.jpg
Each time i trip a lot and imagine that there an universe inside each trichome, and it is almost true, there is an bio universe that create all the cannabinoid.

jh 81 crop.jpg

Stacking of the Jack Herer with 113 pics at 20:1. I'm not totally happy with my lens at 20:1, i hope i will have soon the fund for get a better one...

jh 113.jpg

Stacking of the Jack Herer with 267 pics at 20:1, this one was really hard and long to edit ! Look at this huge tower !!

jh 267.jpg

Now, some pics of the Sour Tangie #6

Stacking of 54 pics at 2:1, i love that one, i think i will print this one as i found him so awesome, beautifull color!

st6 54.jpg

st6 54 crop.jpg

st6 54 crop 1.jpg
Stacking of 93 pics at 10:1, that one was really hard to shoot, dark colour and reflection isn't an easy subject, but wow that's look unreal ! Next time i will try to diffuse more the light and get more detail

Hello RIU,

I do some photography with my dslr since 8 years, and i grow weed since 10 years , this passion come when i start to look trichome for know when i need to harvest the plant, i start with cheap microscope, and after buy my first dslr, 8 years ago, i'm not a professional and every thing i learn on internet, on forum, and with experience. I'm a lot inspired by Professor P of dynasty genetics, by Doobie Duck, by Bubbleman , by Erik of Nugshots and a lot more !

I want to create this thread for share my photography with all of you, for exchange some information about photography technique, material and how improve the quality and everything. I invite all of you to share too your trichome photography with dslr !!

Actually i use some nikon d7200, nikkor 85 mm macro lens (1:1), venus 60 mm macro lens (2:1), a classic 18/105 mm nikon lens, extension tube of 68 mm, a speed light sbr 200 nikon for high magnificence , 3 light spot, a remote for control the dslr without touch then when i shoot. I use some tripod with a macro rail velbon mag that is good for 1:1 magnificence but i need a motorized rail for more magnificence, i will have soon for better deep of field.

I have 2 grow journal in my signature

Love your work simply beautiful.

Hawoodrose - Stunning work! Wondering if you can throw me some pointers. I just picked up a Raynox 250 and am planning on grabbing a Tamron 90mm macro to use on my D800. My guess is that it should get me 2:1 macro. Another option would be a mitagon 85mm macro on the D800, which would get me 5:1. If not too much trouble, can you show me a sample trichome image at similar magnification ratios so I know what to expect (one at 2:1 and one at 5:1)?

I don't use a microscope, actually i have a nikon d7200 with macro lens of venus ( 60mm with a 2:1 magnificence ), If i add some extension tube, i have 4:1 magnificence . Mitakon synoptics have a lens with 4,5:1 magnificence , and if you add extension tube you can have 13,5:1, i don't find information about this lens but i'm really interested by this one. But if you have money, you can buy a canon with their awesome lens mp65mm with a 5:1 magnificence . Actually that's the only one that have this magnificence without add other stuff.

I plan to buy some microscope lens, but they are really expensive ( with high quality and sharpness) an i need to buy other stuff for mount that type of lens...that's for the future. My next step is to buy a motorised macro rail for stacking !

Macro photography is a crazy world, if you have question ask me, i will answer the best i can !
