Lowe's or Home Depot?

which one do people get most of their supplies from? well that's if you even go to either haha

well i get mine from home depot, but lowes carries somethings that the depot doesnt. just shop both

Which one is closer to you?

Go to home depot and get the prices, and take a pic (with your phone) of the prices. Then go to Lowes, if home depot has lower prices, Lowes will match the price, then beat it by 10%. Ive done this many times. Insulating board is a good example of this, I saved ALOT on those items alone.

why not just buy it from home depot, youd save on gas?

make sure to check there online stores as well

ive pulled up some killer deals on honedepot.com

printed out the deal and brought it to my local and they matched the price.

haha no way! both are pretty close to me and I have a hard time deciding which one to go to for certain things. that's a great idea tho that I'm going to use from now on.

one thing i like with home depot, their low priced 5500k cfl's
they work very nice in veg right by themselves - some like the 2700/6500k mix but these 5500k do a very nice job - lowes brand of cfl's, 'bright effects' don't have a good rep for reliability

both lowes has a bigger invortory but the depot is closer for me

home depot has scotts potting soil, not sure if lowes does, but yah i prefer lowes.

because if you are buying more then $50 worth of stuff you save more then you gas.

notoriusb I have saved hundereds doing this. Not just for growing supplies, but for anything a buy for my house. also lowes gives a %10 military discount, but most home depots don't. But you only get one discount at a time.

yea lowe's is only about 15 or 20 minutes farther down the road so that'd be worth the gas to get those extra savings. thanks again for sharing that little secret that I'm sure most of us didnt know about
