Igloo chest? Dollar Tree glass jars? I may need something bigger. I met a tlented young grower who used igloo chests. What about the cheap styrofom chests?
Thank you. Do Bovedas affect the taste?I open mine every other day to begin with. Now, 3-4 mths after harvest, I open once every week or two, depending on how stable the RH is in the jars. The Boveda packs are a two-way system. So, they will try to reach 62% RH no matter what. I use one of these mason jar hygrometers and just move it from one jar to the next, allowing me to check every jar over a 2 week period. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BCXNV72/ If the RH is above 62%, I just leave them open (sometimes overnight, when it's cold and the RH is lower). I do this until the RH comes back into range (a degree or two either side of 60% RH).
Good luck.
Yes and no. If your packs are FULL of liquid they won't suck out any moisture period. They come full strait out of the package. You have to get them TO the cure zone first. I've seen people toss in bud that wasn't in the zone in a jar with Boveda only to be pissed off when they get full blown mold. Then blame it on the Boveda pack. The Boveda packs are a two-way system.
Only in that, if you're 'curing' your material in a more desireable manner, you'll keep more of the flavor in the bud.Thank you. Do Bovedas affect the taste?

I have a can Of that in the basement...I likey your styleFWIW...I paint my jars with a spray-on blackboard paint (see image). The paint is $3-4 for a can from Amazon. I seem to recall I can paint about 6 or 7 jars with one can. It helps keep visible light out and provides a way of noting harvest date, strain, etc.
6 gallon black buckets with gamma seal lids.
I get them from the hydro shop. But I think lowes or Home Depot sells the gamma seal lids.Where do you get those?
\i usually use the big ziplock freezer bags for the first week. super easy to load them up, weight it, check after overnight to see if it is too damp. I roll it down and leave it standing up open to breathe if it needs it. After one week, I put it in 1L mason jars with boveda packs. if you put it in mason jars right away, it is hard to reach in to check on the buds and then need to pour it out to dry a bit more, it is a pain.
Glass jars are a given but after awhile you can upgrade to something else ...
Like a CVAULT . I use these with Boveda packs and have never looked back.
It uses food grade stainless steel and is air tight.
