Looks like we are finally about to have a real President again.

He didn't inherit the disaster, he was one of the people who had a hand in the downfall of the economy. This bum walked hand in hand with the very same criminals who profitted off of the mortgage scandal. This short sighted con man voted for the bailout.
Neither one of the two main candidates is fit to run a carwash much less a nation based on the founding fathers principles.
All this talk about being proud of America for voting for a black man is garbage. How about electing a qualified person who wants the interests of the PEOPLE over the corporation$ no matter the skin color. Hell I'd settle for an alien right now over McCain or Obama or most of the clowns in Congress.
Now here's a real disgruntled voter,~LOL~.

Like Obama had anything to do with Bush and Cheney, the war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, the no bid contracts that Cheney's company Haliburton got.

I feel bad for Obama in a different way, when the country doesn't turn around people will want to blame him due to his skin color. It would be like changing captains as the Titanic went down, the one at the helm when it goes under is the one that will be blamed, not the one that steered in into the iceberg.

I don't know... the only other president that holds a candle to W's ineptitude was James Buchanan. Incidentally, Buchanan was also our most experienced president ever. But anyway, the president elected immediately after Buchanan was an inexperienced congressman from Illinois as well, and he became president during a time when the country was going to hell. But Abraham Lincoln has always ranked among our best presidents, and with luck, Obama will too.

why do dems not realize there basic principles of wealth redistribution and big government are socialist at best and communist at worst? or maybe its just that dems dont care if the United States of America become the United Socialist States of America

Has anyone taken anything from you today that they weren't taking from you yesterday? There is already welfare, food stamps, medicaid, SOCIAL security, medicare, blah, blah, blah. It would seem this was a socialist country under Bush too, the word BAILOUT ring a bell? That was the worst kind of socialism, allowing CEO's to rape companies in the name of salary and then handing over taxpayer dollars to "fix" things.

we already pay taxes, at least i do. and yes my taxes will be higher now that obama is pres. i make over $300 grand a year and i work 80 hours a week for it, no one not even my mother deserves a single penny of that, unless i want to give it to them. i dont want to give my money to a lazy piece shit collecting welfare
and its not Bush's fault that anything let alone the issue with Fannie Mae and such happened, he reacted the same way your savior obama would have and will do if things get crazy

i really like this site though, for the simple fact that i think certain people here discuss there opinions very eloquently and intelligently, even if i dont agree :p

welllllll not very much of the population makes over 300k a year....
so it wouldnt be very fair if we are providing tax cuts for the filthy rich... of course republicans are all for tax cuts for that 2% of the population but FUCK THAT, if you make big bucks, you should pay big bucks on taxes, thats life.

Our economy is at stake, WE have to help OUR country get on the right track. Our tax money is not wasted it is used to provide our country with what it needs.

im sure some of it is wasted but with democrats taking control, I feel that this money will be spent in a better fashion.

Who knows, all those things that Obama is saying could very well in fact be true. Maybe we actually do have a REAL president again...

And if you would go to NORML.org and hear what mcSHAME has to say about medical marijuana I bet you will have less respect for him... republicans are against CHANGE... But in our constantly changing world we NEED change

Depends on who doing the ranking, though I suspect that in the modern political climate Lincoln, who was more of a moderate, wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting elected.

How can you be making $300k a year and still be that dense? You a drug trafficker or something?
Did you miss the part where he said that he works 80 hours a week? And another thing ... since when is a college degree a guarantee of great pay? Hey, I know a guy who grosses over a million a year doing repairs and remodeling on mobile homes. Things like re-roofing, installing vinyl windows, new steps, ramps and new awnings. His nephew makes 12k a month washing mobile homes while he goes to college. The both work their asses off in a little known market that they have cornered and become experts at.

Reminds me of the joke about the plumber. The plumber hands the doctor a bill for services rendered. The doctor says: "Damn, I'm a doctor and I don't make that kind of money!" The plumber replied: "Neither did I when I was a doctor."

I guess anything is possible, but when you see someone hanging out in a pothead message board in the early afternoon claim to make $300k a year, bullshit detectors go off left and right. I am still highly skeptical.

Instead of working 80 hours a week for 300 K per year, cut back to 40 hours a week, bring home 150K, pay less taxes and enjoy life more.

Then he needs to stop bitching about his tax bill. The more you make, the more they take. That has been the unwritten law of employment forever......

It wouldn't be so atrocious if it was at least taken at the same rate regardless of how much you made... actually I lie, I still would have a problem with that, just it'd be at least a little more balanced.

Flat 10%, though I'd prefer 0% Income taxes, and just taxing imports.

Imagine how many people driving BMWs, Mercedes, Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Bugattis would pay in taxes for importing them.

I sense a little braggadocio going on here. Come on man, how much is enough. Do you need to get a boat that is longer than your neighbors, a car that is more expensive, a bigger house. Slow down, work 60 hours and enjoy life. The stress and agitation of that lifestyle will kill you. Just my Humble opinion.
