Looking to buy a 300w LED panel, any help?

I priced and researched both of those companies, def very legit lighting. My dude at the local hydro shop has one of the Stealth 1200 units, pretty bad ass but I thought they were priced a bit too high for the total output compared to some other reputable companies that offer similar warranties, chipsets, diodes employed ect. That is, with the exception of the 1200, that thing is a beast and the only led on the market to use single 50w diodes.

yes the price is nice however they're only backed by a 12 month warranty. These lights are supposed to last 50,000 plus hours. If they really stood behind their product they'd offer a more substantial warranty. Also they advert as using cree diodes when the nm spectrums they advert do not exist in the cree line up. They advertise the actual chipset capacity of their lights, not the capacity to which the diodes are driven. Any 3w chipset led lamp is only going to be driven to on average 2.1w of actual output per diode. This ensures the lamps longevity. They've also employed some pretty shady business practices with the whole "grow boys" competition. In a nutshell they basically started their own competition between lights and lo and behold their lights won the competition. It was created in a very deceptive manner. Also read this thread before you buy one.

The 240 is actually a 130w lamp. I have seen some good blackstar journals and know some people who've used them with success, however I've said it before and I'll say it again - I consider them to be the walmart of leds.

Have you ever owned one? Most of the negative stuff i've seen about them has been from you. Do you have a grow journal where one let you down?

lucius, just search blackstar led thru rollitup and you'll find all kind of grows and supporters, especially in the Led users unite forum. For the money they are true growing leds unlike that cheap chinese knock-off stuff you see all over. good bang for your buck, but it all depends how serious you are, if you wanna invest $1200 into your lighting you can get some amazing stuff, but since i only do a couple plants for my wife at a time that stuff was overkill. also for the price of the blackstar's you can get a few of them and cover much more area with better control than one larger more expensive light

No I don't have one, a good friend of mine had a blackstar 500w unit. He was dissapointed with the results. I see his garden at least once every two weeks we live in the same town, went to high school together. He won't journal or even visit this site as he's pretty paranoid. Take it for what you will but he wasn't happy with his and later sold it and got a PG 550 which has worked for him. There are some very objective things you can look at like warranty and advertising practices as well as the link to the thread I posted earlier where a 240 was dissected that scared me away from this company. I've made it clear that I've never used one in my garden but explained why I have not. The only panels I can give honest first hands on are Hydro Huts, GLH, old school HTG leds, and crappy chinese panels. I'm sure they'll work if you have enough of them but when I'm looking to spend several hundred dollars on a light it better have more than a 12 month warranty and come from a company I'd let watch my children.

Interesting. I haven't seen much in the way of lumigrows aside from this video. I tried researching them but couldn't find a whole lot. Look to be legit but are super pricey at $1500 for a 330w unit.

Sorry if this has already been said for I did not have the time to read through all 30 or entries. However, I did see a thread on here yesterday about the importantce of the green spectrum for LED growers. The thread starter posted a link there to an article that went further into depth about it. I glanced it over and it looked pretty interesting. Maybe it's something you should look into? He promises that people are amazed with the difference...Check it out.

Peace.

looks good, only a two year warranty though, most ones at that priced point carry a 3 year. Also it would appear that that light is more geared toward veg growth as it says use as a suppliment to HPS. Most of use using led are using it as an alternative to lamps that produce too much heat and eat up to much power.
