Hey Dank
So i spoke to horti light co. They are suggesting the HLG 350R light its only $66 more over the 300L Rspec.
They are saying it would be a better light
And can handle a 3ft or 4ft tent as well
I was worried about electricity consumption but they said it would run an extra $8 (avg) per month.
Im kinda relying on elders here for advice and knowledge
Can you let me know your thoughts?
Thanks
I dig the 350r but the main reason I went with the 300 was the size. I have 2 tents, a 36inx36in and a 30inx30in....the 300 runs 26in across and 350 runs almost 35in across and I didn't want to run into issues with the light possibly touching the sides of my tent and causing problems due to heat/negative pressure. And if it did, I really didn't want to buy a bigger tent, which would require another bigger light for the tent I was replacing. It's a vicious cycle haha. The 300 doesn't get hot enough, so it stands to reason the 350 won't either and probably won't do anything to my tent walls if it were touching on a constant basis. There is still a possibility I may upgrade to the 350r and move my 300 to the smaller tent in the future, but I am in no rush since the smaller tent has 250watt LED at present.

Electricity cost from the light is kind of irrelevant since I live in the desert and have my AC cranked down because I am stupid and growing in the summer. Next year I am taking May-Aug off.

The other reason I chose the 300 was because it was red...I like that. I wanted something different from the standard color options of silver.

If I had to do it all over again, I would get the 350r for the extra watts and just live with the boring color.

I grow in a 4x4 and use an iL8x from iluminar. I think their stuff really is on par with HLG and Gavita for quality-price ratio. Its 880$ right now and does amazing on a 4x4. Especialy on flower. Worth the investemnt in my opinion, and also wouldnt suggest running a 1000w HID fixture on a tent, temperature management would get out of control. 650r is an amazing option as well

Thanks for all the replies
Alot of options out there. Jeez didnt realize how many
I think im gonna give the 350L
Fingers crossed

Thanks for all the help

Certainly...The flower footprint is 3x5 on that light...3x4 is an odd size for grow tents, may be tough to find, but I do recall vivosun making a 3x5 tent. Could also go with a 4x4 and just use a portion on the side for fans/huey/dehu and use 3x4portion under the light.

Hey
New to this site. Hello all
Please dont haze too much
I was looking at setting up 1 or 2 plants for some medical issues ive had for a long time. Im trying to look at led lights. Id like to spend less than $500 on the lights (if possible, i could go higher if it gives me much better option)
Main reason i want led is cooler and less fire hazard (due to heat) and less on my power bill
I was looking at sf3000 or sf5000 from spider but i was reading some scary stuff bout the sf4000
Theres a hydro store near me but they sell MH and HPS
I dont want to run these types.
I really would appreciate some honest suggestions and help
I wanted to do a grow tent with carbon filters etc... just wanting for a couple plants but if possible with an option to grow for 3-5 plants maybe in the future.
Thanks
Hey bro you can grow some really nice plants that yield good bud with a few cfls and a couple of buckets. no need to spend mad money if you dont need to.
