To some extent, people on this board should back up their advice with a picture or two of product, just so we have a reference point as to if their advice is working. My point is; you don't take dieting advice from a fat ass.

Local strain:

Sure it's huge, but how is the quality? ....it's a killer.

Details: GH expert line, ebb and flow, 600 watt, only one cola from one plant off a table of six plants.

that looks bunk, something a fatass would do to ya... only show you the good part of her, where's the other parts of this seemingly normal lady ?

Your stuff looks killer.do you use compost tea
or you buy your own nutrients ?
Actually, I learned it’s more desirable to grow lots of smaller buds with this strain as the flower clusters get too dense and have a tendency to mold. But to answer your question, I believe the plant in the first post was grown in the dirt with Pure Blend nutes which tends to get leafier than the same strain in hydro below:

Old thread btw ;)

EDIT: I just caught the details below the pic in the first post; GH 3 part in hydro, so I was totally wrong. I don't use GH anymore as they don't give me my best results.

Use a high quality, balanced, water-soluble fertilizer (preferably with a 1-3-2 NPK ratio) and keep your plants healthy at all times during the flowering stage. Don't worry about big yields as they'll come if you treat your plants well, keep them healthy, and don't overfeed (assuming you're working with decent genetics). Don't get ahead of yourself, don't push your plants, look at them everyday to determine what they want; that's the best advice I've got.

Ok, I'll bite. Besides Jack's Classic Blossom Booster, what bloom fert has a 1-3-2 NPK? I've tried looking and can't seem to find one.

Some brands can be 'mixed and matched' to create something close to a 1-3-2. GH's maxi bloom is 1-3-3, GH's floraNova bloom combined with say hydroplex gets you somewhere close as well. CNS17 bloom with hydroplex gets kinda close too. I thought Age Old Organics made something close to a 1-3-2 but I couldn't find anything on their site. Personally I like DynaGro bloom (3-12-6) and grow formula in different ratios throughout flower. You mentioned Jacks Classic which is a good one but lacks calcium so that wouldn't be ideal for hydro.

There are obviously a lot of options out there with lots of different combinations of bottles but I use what I use because keeping it simple is simply better.

That's ok, I don't do hydro. I do soilless and soil and have been wanting to give a DIY aero setup a try, but I really enjoy old school, hands on gardening. I use Dyna-Gro and Jack's Classic from time to time, but I also like Fox Farms Grow and Bloom formulas. Their Tiger Bloom is a 2-8-4, making it a 1-4-2 ratio. That's pretty close to the 1-3-2 but I find I still need to add a shot of Grow fert in mid-late flower to keep the foliage green and healthy. I'm not a big fan of the 3 part nutes. Too easy to make a mistake.

Fox farm, that's right, they have a good ratio too and I've found the same to be true with the 1-4-2 ratio which is why I mix a grow formula in during flowering.

I'm also not a fan of 3-part systmes these days. I get much better yields with a 1-3-2 ratio rather than the 1-2-2 which is the resulting ratio of the 3 part.

My interest in pictures of big buds ended when I was emailed a photo of a giant cola being loaded on a flatbed truck with a crane. And another of monster cola bursting out through the roof of the house.
