I'm anticipating positive results.
By not having planted in 11 yrs has forced (enjoyably) me to absorb a lot of info....er....a....opinions over the past three months.
Before I grew for shits and giggles...never sold....had fun...never checked a temp or RH ever. Had free weed and gave a lot away.
Now being retired...I want to do it as a hobby. Learn.....make mistakes...learn....make mistakes and go on to figure out what works best for ME with the variables I have,
I also now know what it means when the girls talk to you and let you know what they need.....A big step was taken.

To the point:
If I want to fully enjoy the efforts of my grow....it's about the drying and curing. End of story.
I love the banter about..harsh if don't flush !! Will taste like..blah blah blah.....leaching....molasses .....your ash won't burn white !!.... I wonder if I should be embarrassed for not watching a bowl....bong....or joint ash...I always thought a shitty burn meant you didn't use a Zig-Zag !! (old joke) .. .arrrgh !!!!. Sounds like a lot of buzzkill going on....I hate buzzkill !! People I hang out with....just wanna get high....if someone insulted my ash ....am I supposed to bitch slap em' ??.....I actually would !! Because any friend of mine so concerned with a burning bud... needs to come back to reality !
Again..from what I've absorbed.....EVERYTHING about the quality of your grow comes down to the best cure possible.
At 62 I've matured and been learning all the time.
I'm a smart guy...I really believe their jars can give you an edge on Information, I like that ....a remote hygrometer tossed into 3 of 10 jars curing still leaves 7 jars you're guessing on...or swapping to different jars and repeat. (I won't need 10 jars..ha !!)
The hygrometer caps for jars on the market are cheap....the ones people make are sketchy at best
I'm not a nerd picking on details....I'm a regular guy...( ask your sister !!...just kidding.:.)
I don't think they can possibly hinder my curing...so WTF.
The 6 of them arrived a few days back...absolutely beautifully made....heavy & thick...like the buds I'm hoping for, Cover is plastic..understandably if having electronics in the top. No biggie to me, replaceable battery too !! They know what they're doing. Four (4) free Bovida packs per jar (55% I believe). Packaging was 100% (not possible for bottles to break)...Delivered to door.
When opening the box...the 6 tops were facing up....I believe all were within .1 (point one) or dead nuts on RH..
I think 2 of the 6 were off 1* on the temp.....frickin' cool !
Negotiated $33/ea on their E-bay store.
Sure.....some are laughing at me...maybe some think I'm idiot !!I Why ?? Because this is my 1st cure !! Oh shit...I forgot to mention that.....wait.... I just did !! That's all good...life is never about needing others approval to do what you want to do. There's no hook in MY lip....looking forward to some smooth dank ass buds coming from my new jars !!

And THE most important reason I got em'.....I fuckin' LOVE the color of DARK VIOLET GLASS !!

I'll post feedback when I have it.....oh...I'll try the WW after 1 month....but going for 6 month cure .

hey man glad to have you back in the game! I in the past used jars with a hygrometer in each jar and... loose those damn things all the time... so might be worth it just to be able to keep track of that alone, but they are pretty spendy....there are just so many "specialized" products in this space that are absolute garbage and very over priced and I don't want to fall into that trap. I guess it cant hurt buying one and trying it out along side a normal jar with a caliber II in it. I also like the idea of not having to have the meter hygrometer in the jar. easier to read and more accurate for the overall jar since the sensor doesnt have the chance of having a bus sitting right on it and skewing the number. Think I'll grab one and just do a small comparison. (sorry to hijack your thread op)

The Mason jars I use are tinted purple, but they are also available in green and blue and red tinted as well, I think. They are mainly decorative, but they are a bit darker than the regular glass versions. Maybe they do filter a bit more light. But I store my jars in a dark space anyway. The advantage of those really dark violet ones is that you can keep them in the light longer. They do work better in that setting....like if you wanted to keep a jar out, ready for use, then they'd probably be great and maybe worth investing in one. I'd line them either way.

Yeah...I contemplated the thought that when curing they will be stored in the dark...making the Miron glass really no benefit....I felt the lids would help dial in the cure. Having one for my head stash available in a jar that still preserves it would be nice . Seems I'm always rolling a mason jar around when changing flavors...they really do spend some time in the light. I like the concept...no harm no foul. Thanks for the response.

I use 1/2 cup jars for personal. I fill them just nice and they are always fresh and tasty.

My apologies also OP......

I also tested the lids to see if agreed with my remotes....temp was spot on....RH was miniscule.. They do make remotes for the caps too...I had asked...wished I didn't !! I think about $200 for 1 lid monitor !! Probably related to sensitive meds or storage of high end products......not that weed isn't important ! HA !

The ones I have are the "apothecary" jars and they were gifts.....They don't have the built-in hygrometer, but they're pretty nice jars. They look cool and I can leave them out without worrying about light degradation....but the ones I have are too large to have full of weed sitting out...at least in my lifestyle they are!

It's a cool idea and they are neat jars, but, in all honesty, I think they are kind of one of those "for the person who has everything" kinds of things....very fancy!

Yup...I agree...definitely a luxury item. As opposed to " for the person who has everything " (no insult taken)....I actually have "nothing" in the jar dept.
I really wanted tinted mason jars and was unsuccessful in my search. And I definitely needed jars. I ran into the Miron glass by extensive searching for the tint. I wasn't sold on them right away....but after looking at how and what I wanted to accomplish....they actually fit the bill...a big bill at that !!! I love to spend $$ and worked hard my entire life with nothing handed to me. My first 2 wives made sure I had to work hard after cleaning me out !! Have no children so no alimony.
Retired now and not taking cash to the grave....sooo the luxury items appeal to me...especially on a 1 time purchase. House paid off...drive a caddy, Vette and a Lexus...live on a river...wife going away for 19 days on Saturday...life is good at the moment !! Slowed down on "most" of my hobbies.....but have an M1A coming in next week I'm anxious to shoot !.

AND my WW's are coming down tomorrow....the girls told me this morning they're ready !!
Work hard...be a kind honest and loving person and strive for happiness. Good things eventually will come....but one hell of a struggle getting there. It worked for me.

i've got regular wide mouth mason jars, a dozen fit nicely in my bottom desk drawer, with room for a bunch of pint jars that i keep "special" stuff in

I think ill buy one and do a comparison with my normal process and see if there is a large difference. Worth a shot for 40 or so bucks
