hi all.
what sort of lumens total should i be looking to acheive it a grow room 800cmx800cmx1m tall i only have the 1 plant im new to this and i understand it is crucial for my room to be bright enough. im currently using cfls 3x20w(3600lumens) and 2x15w(1800 lumens). is this sufficiant or do i need to improve. note not all alights are above the plant

I dont grow with CFLs but I have seen enough people on Rollitup use less light than that for a few plants-so to them you must be a GOD! I try to get my light always aorund 6000lux but that will not happen with CFLs.. U are growing one plant!! All that light will be concentrated on it-mybe triangle your lght around the plant..

i have made my own light with a metal foil baking tray holding the 3x20ws which hangs above the plant about 2 inches away and then have fittings on the side walls about halfway up the plant with the 2 15w bulbs

from US so my metric sense isn't all it could be
did you mean 80 x 80 cm - if so, you're good for the moment

yeah thats what i meant 80cmx80cm. lol so im good yeah. i was thinking of buying some 25w cfls i have seen 1350lumens each was gunna replace all 5 same spectrum just more lumens wont hurt will it.

come on now thats bit of an over statement i use cfl`s and hps- cfls for veg. 2 massive 250 watt mogul base cfl`s 6500k spectrum for veg. and my hps for flower. we all dont use those little standard base cfls now this is the cfl`s i use for my veg stage.

i use two of these in my closet for veg. but i got an hps for flower. peace out bro

Ok ok.. Your right- I also have four of those, but they are the 200Watt CFLs.. I like them but I only use them for additional lighting if need be. A friend uses them along side MH for veg and he says their fine.. I use them to keep the plants out of flower.. On a flip flop u run 12hr per room. So hand a few of those in for an addion 6 hours keeps them in veg.. So overal all they are versital lights. I just always see people use small CFL and I just dont understand why. Whats the difference between that and a 250HPS for being under cover.. Get the 250HPS atleast than..
