Light or no light?

So this is a question that I come across a lot. And I got to thinking: What do YOU prefer?
I have always used light right when my seeds go in the ground. So is there anyone that does not use light?

Well, If Im planting seeds in a planter, I will always have the lights on. I believe the slight heat of the lamp encourages growth.

Gravity, light, and heat are how the sprout knows which way to grow.

I germinate in the dark, but once they go into the soil, i have two 18 watt 1' T12s on them.

yeah I think it's standard to have a light on them before they sprout especially if the temps are a little low. I just generally don't reccommend people use HID lamps before they break when a small cfl is more than sufficient.
