light not reaching bottom buds

Hi all
I have few plants in mid-flower,
there are few branches on the bottom part of plants where light doesn't reach (about 2-3 feet into the foliage)

Should i cut the lowest branches even though there are flowers on them to let more energy for the top ones?

I would estimate 15% of all flowers are beyond 2 foot mark

or will the lack of light cause them to mature slower, so i can harvest them in different time?

Thanks

I trip off the bottom half of my plants. It should give you larger, denser colas up top. I would go ahead and trim it up at this stage if it were me. CFL's might work but are also said not to be the best choice for use with HPS system. I think the hps effects the lifespan of the CFL's..? If thats not a concern it also might work for you.
