YA, I have used UVB/A, t5's on a few plants. I believe the UV has a positive effect. The higher leaf temp idea ???IDK
If for example you're not running any UV you can account for it with higher canopy temps to trigger the self defense response.

Of course, you can go all in like @RM3 and run both UV and high canopy temps and push resin production to it's maximum.

What lab testing are you getting all this from?

If that were the case, wouldn't HPS weed be the most potent with all that IR? And wouldn't a bunch of people have noticed that and we'd be hearing it on every forum that you shouldn't use any cooling? Withholding water and low humidity will produce more resin. All I ever got from buds too close to an HPS was dry buds. Not saying you're wrong, just that I am yet to be convinced. The UVB study I read said that THC increased and other cannabinoids stayed the same, so it's not just increased resin output but the resin has a higher percentage of THC. I don't know of any other way than UVB to get that effect.

Modern high thc strains are already increasing thc % higher than can be done by over aging the flowers with excessive UVB.

Think about it, we have strains with consistent results over 20%,

Is one bong rip all ya need ?

Does it last for 5+ hours ?

Are there tolerance issues ?

By adding UV to my garden I can answer Yes, Yes, No to those ?'s

Yea, it's called dancing on the rim of the volcano lol.

UV is the most "natural" form of light stress on plants, which is probably why it promotes such a positive response.

But of course, too much UV and you'll cook the trich heads and ruin it.

I'm still in the process of seeing if reptile CFLs make a noticeable difference. It'll take a while yet though.

Well I would equate one good bong rip to 4 hits off a joint
Joints aren't a good way of smoking. I find I don't get very high plus it's a lot stinkier and smokier in the room. My guess is that it produces more carbon monoxide too. It burns a lot colder than a pipe. It's like smoking Salvia in a joint, you get nothing. Just not hot enough. Most of the THC vapor is gonna condense in the joint before it gets to the end and get revaped several times, meaning more gets burnt up.

there is no way that higher temps elicit the same response as UVB exposure. Your "lab of life" has toy equipment and pretend techs.

I dont think it just raises thc. Sometimes high thc strains suck. UVB elicits changes that are complex and effect more than simply thc%.

Where did "over age the flowers" come from? Also "excessive UVB" which metrics and conditions are you using to describe excessive UVB?

I have a paper using soil as the standard and THC profiles came out different....imho there is more to terp/cannibinoid production and uvb and lighting isn't fitting into the puzzle like everyone would like.....

this isn't all figured out yet...and its subjective to strain too

would one see benefits from a far red blast at lights out running 12/12, or is the whole purpose to get to 14/10?
I use 12/12 myself. I doubt if the extra 2 hours would make much difference and you would be using more power anyway. Could just use the same power on more lights and grow more plants at 12/12. Besides, I don't really trust it that much. Using 12/12 will make sure.
