Light and dark period.

Hi, have a question about light and dark cycle, during the dark period is it important that it is total dark, i am using 18-6 now? If it is important that it is total dark, is it possible to change light period to 24-0 without harm to the plant? Short rider from nirvana in its second week and looking good so far :-P

I've run my veg 24/0 under CFL's, turned out great.
I'm going to try HID next time, but then I'll be running 18/6, to give the plants a rest, and to save some money.
 
You want to keep it as dark as possible during flowering. I have some minor light leaks which is acceptable. I have never Hermie any of my girls.
 
NO LIGHT during flowering when the bulbs are off, if you haven't hermied yet i bet you will Ring...If you truely have a light leak.
 
Darkness is important.

Most hermies come from seeds that came from hermied plants, in my opinion. No doubt someone will disagree with my statement, but it's my story and I'm sticking to it

Been doing this for a while now. Still haven't hermi any of my crops.
Maybe one day it may happen.
My tent is open in a walk in closet. The door is always cracked open about 12 inches...So, yep a little light gets into the closet. U huh.
That's how it be.
Still haven't screwed my plants up.
 
Ok thanks, i go on with 18-6 and will not close my tent totally so that i get some aircirculation, if i get hermies i try 24-0 next time!
 
my grow is my bed room ... Ive heard its a bad idea and must say i I Agree, not the Ideal place , But thats all i got. Any ways said that to say this, Doring my dark period Unfortanetly I Get some shaded light from the window , so there are some light leaks However didnt seem to affect it @ all ... @ times I have to turn on bedroom light for a minte or so and so far things ok .. JUst sharing

Thanks, guess you sleep well when they start to ripen and smell :weed: my condition is about the same, not in my bedroom though.
