I am not in favor of the current war in Iraq nor do I support going to war in Afghanistan as we did. I do think we should have stayed out of Iraq as we have killed many innocent people and lost a lot of face with the world and the international community. However I do think that we should have gone about waging war in Afghanistan in a more covert manner and used economics to pressure the Taliban.

I do have to ask why we are calling people Towelheads as it is a pretty racist term and not relevant when we are at war in Islamic countries. Not to mention the fact that many of our allies are "towelheads" and have helped us. Hammer6913 do you refer to blacks as niggers or hispanics as spics? What about Jews as kikes? How is racial and islamophobic epitaphs contributing ot the argument other than making you feel like a man and a tough guy? One might deduce that you are less than a man down there, if you know what I mean. ;) Those who try to talk toughest are the ones who are the most inadequate.

Those were real wars against other countries.
At the moment the war is to change the way of life in these places.
Areas that have been self governed by the communites and elders that inhabbit them, with their own rules and codes.
If the chinese pitch up here in the US tommorrow and start searching and destroying anti-communists, wouldn't you take up arms with whatever is available to you?

the only soldiers i would give a piece of my mind to are people like the scumbag that threw the puppy off the cliff. but like i said, war does very bad things to otherwise good people. and not having ever been in the same situation, i should not judge.

more and more soldiers are coming back with ptsd and other crippling and traumatic mental disorders nowadays, which can at times be even worse than horrible physical trauma. prime recruitment targets are most often the places with less economic opportunities. the battles we fight now are not worthy of our resources like ww2 and other wars.

it all just seems so fucked.

it seems like the best, most patriotic thing we can do for our soldiers is to not send them into a fight based on a lie, or one we can not win.
