Lemon Skunk A-Growin...

For this round of my perpetual grow, I'll be growing the following:

5 Feminized GHS Lemon Skunk
1 Feminized DNA Lemon Skunk

With the following:

Scott's Premium Potting Soil
3 Gallon buckets
Purified water
Jack's Classic nutes
648w 6500K CFL's
2 400w HPS

Soaked the seeds Saturday, for 24 hrs., placed in moist paper napkin Sunday evening - all six popped overnight, and placed into their "cribs" this morning.(Paper jiffy cups with African Violet Mix). Placed on top of one of my CFL racks, throughout the process, for warmth.
Not much to see yet. I got the DNA LS as a freebie, and thought I might grow it side by side with the GHS LS for comparison. Here we go!

Nice Doe. I have an outside interest in this as Lemon Skunk is one of my favorite strains. I would def keep take some clones to keep this strain (breeder choice) around(of desired) once you smoke some. All popping is good. I am liking GHS so far in my experience.
First off, I can hardly taste, smell etc. Lemon skunk though, never tasted any bud like that. Smell was exactly what you expect, initial skunk smell with strong, strong undertone of citrus. When inhaling LS, I could taste the skunky-cirtusy as the smoke rolled over my tongue. THe LS from my dispensary was covered in trichromes, so many that they didn't feel obligated to properly trim it. Would have loved to see it alive! Thats why I am here!
Good luck, looking forward to this and watching your GHS White Grow through flower.
Scribed as always

Thanks wonderblunder, good to have you, as always! Got a seedling already, as of this afternoon. May have been more, but I forgot to turn the space heater on in my room, gets down to 60F or so, when the lights are off. Bad plant mommy, bad.

Six out of six seedlings have arrived! Had a scare this morning when the power went out, thought they would get too cold and die - along with the 16 plants from my other two grows. I guess the Lemon Skunk babies wouldn't be as big a loss, not even being a week old - but my other two grows, hell the white grow just started flowering, and the TrainWreck is almost done flowering. That would really, really suck.

Nice Doe, bummer about power outage. Does that happen a lot? Never happens where I am, maybe 1 a year, unless some drunk telephone pole hits a car on my street:shock:

Often enough that I'm considering buying a large generator this Spring! I live in the middle of nowhere - older farmhouse, so it can be a problem.

Nice. Like idea of a generator. You really wouldn't need a huge one if you would only run the grow room and minor lamps and appliances. I would love to live out in the country. Trying to convince the wife but she can't bear the idea. My parents may move towards warm weather at some point, and their current house would be ideal for outdoors, indoors, greenhouses, the whole works.

You could always just use the heavy appliances once the grow room is shut off. You can also do some sound dampening which would be nice. If the generator remains stationary you can connect a much larger fuel tank, for day after day of growing.

Have ya done the math on how much gas/diesel/LP is gonna run ya, after you factor that in for a few moths, your idea will wind up costing you ALOT, DEPENDING you are looking at hundreds at the bare min to run a genny 18/12 hours a day every day.

Im looking at a 8Kw and LOL I hope I wouldnt have to use it more than a day or Id have to find a new line o work.

Why would Doe need an 8kw? The idea was for power outages that happen a few times a year in her location........

The more the better first off, 2nd a genny really shouldnt be used past 50%, and on grow gear that you don't want to die on you later from having shitty electric (generators put out less than clean power, not to mention some don't do as rated) so even having 2-3Kw in lights I wouldn't go lower than a 6kw, a 4 will use much more fuel and work much harder. I wasn't suggestioning she needed on, read what I said again "I am looking at a 8kw", meaning for myself, and this summer I'm gonna get one.

I'd suggest everyone get some backup, gov has all kinds of plans for the power grid, even planning on telling people how much power they can have.
