LEDS are one of the best if u get the right kind. (the right kind cost ALOT) but if you can get your hands on a sulpher plasma BULB those are suppose to be bloody good as well

I used to think leds were shit until i seen irishguy led grows.Man oh man he puts a new meaning to leds.I think it was 19 oz from 600 watts of led or a 1000 either way it was led and very impressive..

Fair enough.. I've glanced though it... and will quit my LED bashing until further notice.. thanks for posting the link.. always like to stay current.. I get the bitterness cause I started growing with LED with great expectations and got greatly disappointed. Will check it out for sure.
Trust me the grows he is doing prove leds are good. But very pricey for the right ones

Not even if you have the money to blow...

Look a completed "good" LED grow.. using the best bulbs available. I think he built a panel that cost him $500. after his 6th grow he finally got 5.3 ounces... yaaaa!!!!
that's one of the worst led fixtures I've seen... high watt crap with shitty broad optics. Great example of how people skimp and get ripped off and feed the fires of ignorance :)

as usual wyte is on the ball! $500 is nothing to spend on led, and that's really the only valid complaint imo, they are a huge premium for benefits which aren't that hard to overcome in HID. Then again what to one person is a lot, to another is a few days of work :) I guess the other issue is that led's are kinda complicated, and can have thousands of permutations of components of insanely varying use and efficiency. It's misunderstood enough that many many people are getting rich ripping others off. like any new technology, you have to do your homework :)
