Led?

On another forum on marijuana growing, called Autoflower.net, is a lot of information on the led lights and how they work with autoflowers. That's where I heard about the Gotham Hydro Store (operates out of e-bay) and there are some very happy growers with some tremendous results. One of the main moderators, called "Moody" is very upbeat with the Blackstar LED that Gotham sells. Well, I got the 180 watt instead of the 230 watt one that he prefers, and I'm just trying her out now, so it will be a while before we see how the grass grows when it's time to flower. But for vegging, it seems to work most excellent...but I may be too close and bleaching my plants. If you do check out Autoflower.net, check out a guy called Seymore Buds and his Think Different grow. Very very impressive........

if you can keep those blackstar running you're doing better than me.failure rate is right up there. 1 year warranty kinda weak.

LEDs are advancing everyday, higher quality and higher powered chips, more spectrums to choose from, ect
i was on the led/t5 bandwagon hard a little while ago,I'm currently growing a lot of veggies, flowers, cacti and other common stuff with just LEDs,some with just t5s and some I mixed LEDs and t5s,pretty good results, and I haven't needed to install much venting/fans.my setups will soon be upgraded to all of them having t5/led mix
the main thing "right now",if you want a good mix of spectrums in a led you either have to DIY or pay through the nose to get a good custom built one.

i also use Mh/HPS for other purposes, and you can't compare the coverage of intense light coming from a 1000w to any LEDs on the market right now.im not saying it won't happen in the future, just not yet.
I'm currently testing results of mixing Metal halide and LEDs for veg, then HPS and LEDs for flower(just lemon cucumber, tomatoes, corn, and birdhouse bottle gourds, boring I know)

Mixing T5s with Leds I am finding I can go with cheaper leds since all I want and count on is a big punch of 660 nm red. The rest is easy to make up with the T5s thanks to the pet industry (coral actinics, UVB reptile bulbs, and balanced plant bulbs).

LOL leds not reliable. Hilarious joke bro

OP there is a subforum for LED where you will not be given advice by the hilariously misinformed. LED is definitely not the cheapest option but it has huge benefits (e.g the lack of heat blasted into your canopy). Check it out here (indoor growing-->LED and other lighting)

Not saying LED is easy either. But it is definitely rewarding seeing better results for half the power bill. One thing I will say is you definitely learn a hell of a lot about how plants work when you get into the LED game.

There are also vast differences between different panels/generations. Make sure you do your research if you go this route.
LOL - so nobody has ANY trouble with LED panels? LOL. Bullshit. He notes "do your research". Uh huh. Be sure to get your RA shipped with the light.

GOOD lighting LED is EXPENSIVE! Not saying you can't get operational LED. You're just going to pay and then the smartie doesn't answer how you replace it on the fly.

i used both t5's and a couple led ufo's i was impressed with the led it only has a small downfall it doesnt put out heat/unlike a t5 but as far as growth everytime i had plants with a t5 and led above them the plants would almost always gravitate to the led. the choice is yours both are good in my book. plus the led uses 1 watt per led
