Christmas came early! looking to vamp up my DIY game with more supplemental lighting. Got all this pretty cheap. Plan on making "all in" framed setup after this run. That's a whole another venture. For now I get to mess around with these. :peace::joint:
That's exciting. Could you share the source for those heatsinks?

Hey everybody who is using LEDs out there. Lets join up and start chattin about this and that. Figuring crap out. Seeing what works for you, but not me, etc. etc.

It would be much appreciated if only people who USE CURRENTLY leds for mostly full grows, or vegetative grows using only LEDs.

HID users, we already know you are better than us, and your buds are bigger than ours. But there is a first time for everything, and a new beginning at ever end of something old.

ALSO IF YOU ARE AN LED SALESMAN TRYING TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT THIS IS NOT THE THREAD FOR YOU! STAY AWAY! IF YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH A COMPANY AND HAVE BIAS FEEDBACK WITHOUT RESULTS. STAY AWAY!

Thank you all, and I hope this thread EXPLODES in growth...

Got the frame all built up I was talking about previously. Added the (4) 3k strips/80w mw. QB's will be the staggered 20x12" rectangles. Still have the 4 strips currently in use to add as well when this run is over. If,, if needed it can push over 800w lol. Getting carried away with this new found hobby of diy. I'll post when completed. FB14EDDF-FE76-4970-AB32-19E7FB16BAFB.jpeg

This turned out to be 800 grams. 4 plants trained for a week at the net before letting them go. Next round I will flower a little below the net and train for longer if I can because these got too tall for my liking.
Well I'm back after my last grow. This time, for fun, I concentrated on yield. Big Bud, vegged for a good 2+ weeks longer than I normally would. Colas everywhere. 800w at the wall Mars blurple. 440g = 15.7oz, very dry snappable twigs, so not bad at all but not a massive leap. I think close to 16oz is actually a best for me, certainly for a long time.

One thing I did notice was one of my plants, the middle one, really squashed up against the rear two plants, and consequently a lot of good bud sites were shaded in a dense jungle and produced light coloured light-starved smaller buds. Not enough room.

I've now changed from a 1.2x1.2m tent to a 2.4x1.2m tent - not for more lights, but so I can get to the sides and back of the plants, which previously was impossible. I've got the nursery mini tent in the corner for cuttings/seedlings, and moved all my tools etc in - loads of space. Means I can put 4 plants in my existing tank spread much further apart. Will be interesting to see how they enjoy the xtra space, but the same light.

Well I’m upgrading from my 500w HLG QB to a new Budget LED 500W Series +3 Full Spectrum Infinity Board. My old QB was sold to my sister for $400 (paid $1200Cnd about 3 years ago) and now await its arrival. Haven’t started anything new grow wise since I finished my outdoor harvest in late October. Usually I’m worried about not having enough to get me and everyone else through until the next harvest. Thankfully it was a very good harvest with 5.5lbs dried from 9 plants. Plus I’m moving up from a 4x4 starter tent to a 5x5 MarsHydro tent that still needs to be assembled.

My tens are 4 x 4 feet so about the same size and I have the same problem, can't access the back. Putting tents in the middle of the room is not an option, they can only be against the wall. So it's all about training and flipping at the right time, can't skip any training for 14 days or so after flip. If numbers are not a concern you may want to try more smaller plants.

My 2 1/2’ x 5’ gives great access but reaching and working in the rear area of a 4 x4 or bigger must be shit.

This may be a silly question but does anyone know if I can connect a hlg 120 1400 to a hlg 240 1400? But a type drivers so I don't know if it's possible to begin with lol. Sorry if this a dumb question.

I've built a couple lights but always one driver or two of the same. Thanks guys.

Gearing up to build two 600 panels that I'll update as soon as they are done.

Constant Current drivers? I wouldn’t. Wire the sets separately to each driver . E.G. wire 6- 20w to the 120 and or twice the amount of strips for the 240. If using double row 48w strips , adjust quantity accordingly. They won’t work (to my knowledge) wired together anyway. :joint::peace:

I’m messing around building a veg light and am using a couple drivers. Makes it easier if your using different color temps/forward currents ect.

Yeah didn't think so either. I know you can combine two of the same driver to one dimmer though.
QB boards or strips?
One will be using 36v 240 samsung s6 lm561c boards, so kind of like QBs.

Other light I will bring 4 foot strips using Seoul strips. 190 chips per 4ft strip. 3500k and almost 10k lumen per strip I think.

Also rebuilding my 5 cob light with some citizen chip ugrades and new chip holders and reflectors to make it more snazzy.

Arrow has some 88c “m” series 2’ Samsung strips right now. Tariffs are just as much as the order. Shitty

They have the 4 foot seoul strips right now at 16 bucks for 5k. Add that to one lpc driver from meanwell and you can have a sweet 40w veg light for clones or starters.

I’m considering 8 bar LEDs for a new setup,

3 tables 4’ wide by 12’

I’m going to do some research in this thread for inspiration
know nothing about LEDS so it should be fun learning.

School me on what you would get for store bought, budget can be 5-10k for boards/lights.

Thanks in advance
