Looking to run the leds to keep cost down.. from pullin lots of wattage, and also keeping the heat and $$ spent into venting.

Well bridgelux is an American company with their main headquarters in the USA but have many plants (?) in China. I checked the list and don't see Cidly Shenzhen Cidly Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. listed.

http://bridgelux.com/contact/services.html

Anyway..I emailed Bridgelux and I will respond here with their reply if Cidly actually uses their LED's.

Here's the kit I'm looking to get..it's all solderless LED's and very easy to put together. See video at bottom.

I'l be using the bigger heatsink 6"x20" and will put 24 LED's on each heatsink. You can also custom pick your LED's and they are located in the USA.

Their email replies have been quick and very helpful so I'm leaning towards Rapid but hey you never know.

I recommend NW/WW 1:5-6 ratio

NW in center of 6 WW would be tits

I would def consider one of these. Ive been in contact. They will let you pick your own blend. Shipping for one is $$$$, but if a few get together I might go in

This whole LED wattage thing is confusing to me.

So this grow light ( the one you linked to ) is 63 watts total but the actual watts is 50 ..am I correct?

What was the price you were quoted for these if the 2 min requirement was met ?

What blend of LED's do they offer ?

Shipping ?

^^ not 'cheap ~ $300 shipping for one was $85, but that might cover 2, if sent to the same address

I am concerned about 0.5w diodes although they output 85 CRi, not bad, but not great

Here is the grow so far. Each unit cost about $20 a month to run.

Hmm. That's like asking "What's wrong with a Fiat?" when a Ferrari is so much more in so many ways

My first light noob purchase was a R/B ufo 90. It worked, but...

Once I learned to supplement it with additional NW + WW screw bulbs, I started getting vg results, but between the fixture ($20) + 7 screw bulb leds (@~ 15) = ~ $160, I could have bought a much better led fixture,
or 2 for additional foot print coverage

hey guys!!
I have grown single plants before with some success, but now I want to take it a little more seriously and so i planted approx 10 plants and now im vegging them. it is just some regs that is going around and i took the seeds. i didnt want to invest alot of money. so this is an experiment, but the data is what im after.i have pics comming. the space i have prepared a room i built from wood scr4aps. it is 4 feet by 5 feet and approx 8 feet tall. i have a question about the lighting of the area. i ordered 1 1000w hps fixture and bulb. it this too much light for the area? i know this is a thread for leds and i want to use them, but i dont know what to use. i have a passion for growing marijuana and it is something that i want to get heavily involved with, but growing one plant as opposed to 15 to 20 uniformly is a horse of a different color. help please.

For a 5'x5' I would use about 1000 watts of actual draw. This should be split up with 4 fixtures such as;

(4) Area 51-135 (250watts) (2012 models are discounted at the moment)
(4) Blackstar FSF 405 Chrome (240watts)
(4) progrow 400 (250watts)
(4) Advance DS300 (274watts)

BlackDog does not have anything between the Micro (135watt)* and the BD-u 360(340watt). They need something in this gap.

*I own; BS405s, PG260s, Adv.ds200s, Growblu/Apollo 12, Rihnogrow400, assorted UFOs and the BD Micros.
Hey ellydee,

Ask and ye shall receive. Just launched 240w panel yesterday for this very reason. Check it out BD240-U

Hello all! Well I have determined to go with the blackdog l.e.d. Here are the specs:
1) 45inx40inx7ft.
2)1000 watt Platinum blackdog.
this will be a soil grow i figure 12.5 square feet. Also I want to scrog, so how many plants? I want to explore the V-shape trellis or stadium scrog. I want a nice return time and vegging don"t necessarily matter. I think 2, or 4 with a nice 4 to 6 week veg hoping to 12/12 at 4ft? any comments would be nice. also i'll post pix along the way bcuz I will need input through the whole grow. Thanx all any good strains for this, although I know of alot already.

I'm running two 200W Solar Storms (California Light Works) in my 3x3 tent. I'd like a little extra light in the back corners. Are those LED spotlights any good?

I was playing with the light meter last night and they sure do put out alot of light....seems as much the ufo's...or more.

I kinda feel like a dollar a watt is my max i will pay for leds.
