LED LightBlaze 400 Grow

Turns out that one of my plants, the bubblegum was experiencing leaf charring due to PH imbalance. So i added some dolomite to stabilize the PH. I hope that in subsequent days her condition improves.

Otherwise, the other 3 ladies are doing well. Also i feel the PH imbalances have stunted the bubblegums flowering a little bit.

Things look good. Starting to get bigger, i can't imagine what they'll look like approaching the 50 day mark. Their growth during this phase has been interesting.

:cuss:

so i've fucked some shit up as usual. the gnats are back, but only in the bubblegum. so i picked up gatrol. turns out the hssb's PH was off so i flushed her last week...but then she began to show some nitrogen deficiency....

so i mixed a cocktail of dilute nutes, mixing small amounts off all three FF nutes and threw some brown sugar in there as well.

the bud sites are looking great, but the two with the ph imbalances are clearly stunted, and the gnats in the bubble gum have super underdeveloped bud sites.

i wish i could post some new pics but i broke my digi cam. i'll try borrowing one and posting pics in a few days.

but led + hps works. not too bad either...but with all these newbie mistakes and imbalances etc, and not promptly being able to assess problems will definitely impact my yield. i guess i'll get it right he 2nd grow. hopefully things pick up.

pics of the hssb -- yeah i know it looks bad but its bouncing back from the ph imbalance---at least i hope.

the one with the plate cover is the bubblegum...reason i cover it is so the gnats don't go ape shit. i know it looks like shit...i wasn't able to assess the ph problems sooner....but i got luckily and was able to save the hssb. i'm just keeping the bubblegum around hoping that the sites will eventually bulk up.

by far the ssb's in the upper right corner are coming out great. right on time too. i think that strain might have a faster flowering period 6-8 weeks, so i might steal nug off of it in the upcoming days.

ps: don't let the angle fool you, the lights aren't as far as they seem.

the buds continue to fatten up and ripen.

yesterday i flushed the SSB. It is one of those strains with a fast flowering time. 6-8 weeks and while it looks like i can be harvested soon...i guess i will continue to wait a little bit longer. i have read some posts on that strain and most people tend to harvest it later than earlier. Since i have two in one pot, i have noticed than one is a lot more developed than the other. hence the anticipation.

the hssb by far is my trophy crop, and the two ssb's are in 2nd place.

the bubblegum is poorly hampered in growth...in all honesty i guess the only reason im dragging it on is because i figure some bud is better than no bud.

i'm hoping to use the hssb as a benchmark crop, (even though it has been through its share of trauma) it still looks decent.

All i know is that my cabinet is running on 70 watts hps (86 total watts) and 100 watt LED. For a total of ~190 watts, with 170 watts of effective light.

in terms of space, if i mount the exhaust fan, and drop down the lights i can easy see myself throwing in a few smaller plants, maybe 6, two gallon pots....or maybe two plants, veg longer, and then with some lst and have them fill out the canopy.

...will be contemplating my next grow. hopefully won't encounter as many issues either.

So far everything looks great!

I've stopped feeding the girls nutes and its just plain water with some "sugar in the raw" packets. lol.

Yeah i just snag a few packets from the coffee shop whenever i go.

Saves me money! and i'm hoping it'll bulk up the girls a bit.

Man oh man, they look nice, i'll try bumming a camera for some sexy bud porn.

I plan on harvesting between day 52-54. i took an early harvest from one of the SSB (like a few (2-3) small nugs), just drying/curing them up.

Sadly even if the girls aren't ready. Although they look pretty damn on time to me.

just want to see if its worth all the feds to throw at it.
cause i was just thinking buy a 600w
but shit you setup looks great for a personal grow

Looking Great man! What do you think about using some CFLs as the extra lights along the side? I like the way you are mixing it up a bit!! Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see the final yeild!!

there are still many things that leds are not capable of.as far as a medi grow im talkn 15-20 plants if not more hps/mh are still the kings. for a personal grow 3-6 plants led might get you where you need to be but during veging they will be skimpy as well as a hell of a lot of stretching still some spectrums these led lights are missing . take all that in to consideration.now take this NO HEAT SIGNATURE. 90 WATTS REPLACING 400. NO BULBS EXPLODING NO NO COPS KNOCKING ON THE DOOR ASKING WHY IS YOUR ELECTRICITY SPIKING NO COPS TELLING YOU "WELL WEVE BEEN WATCHING THE HEAT SIGNATURE FROM YOUR HOME AND YOUR DOING SOMETHING.i look at it like this if i have to take a hit in the yield department to stay free and harvest with out the police knocking SO BE IT in the years to come no one will use hps ormh unless they have a legal grow -op

yield. i want to minimize my wattage usage and get the most potent buds i can produce. LEDs suit my purpose, and thats why i am giving it a go.[/QUOTE]

I could be wrong but doesn't a 400 watt led light use 400 watts? how are you saving any wattage? I thought the whole idea for leds were they run cooler then a HPS or MH?

I guess i left everyone hanging in this forum hanging. Do to unfortunate circumstances, i had to harvest earlier than i wanted to...and was kind of rushed into curing the herb...which really sucked. I yielded approx 1.5 oz, if i had been able to wait longer, i'm sure that number would have hit 2oz's easily. All in all, supplementing the LED with a small HPS produced better results for the plant closest to the HPS. However, since they were all three different strains, the result is inconclusive. I ended up giving one of the plants away too. So in the end i harvested 4 total, but these 4 plants were in 3 pots. One of them shared a pot, the SSB's, and the bubble gum was sort of stunted early on from nute burn. So you can imagine my grow conditions, and what not. Towards the end of my grow, the scrubber proved insufficent, and my room and clothes started to smell like dank.

So much so that after my last final; i took a whiff of my jacket and it smelled like reefer. Right then and there, it pretty much hit me...that this isn't the right time, nor the right place for me to be doing this.

When and if, that time comes, i do not know...but my 1st grow catastrophe has taught me a lot.

The quality of the final bud, was decent, although stony, it was badly cured...and didn't look that great.

as for the LED lights, i sold mine, for the same price i paid...i suggest people wait until LED technology gets better....

although it migh have gotten better in the last few months... i do not know.

The End.

for now!
