Led light sugestion for a GL40 or DR40 tent

I gave up on finding a 150watt hid lamp for this small tent. For size reasons and heat.

Im gonna use a 3 gallon dwc system to maximize the grow area.

i have a budget of 200$, give or take, so i was looking at the 135 watt blaclstar or the 180.

im a first time grower and have researched the armada of led options but would appreciate an experienced take on the setup

Suggestions for the best bang for the buck in these 16"x16" grow tents? Also, the 3 gallon hydro set up or soil for this small led/tent grow? Was gonna try the Lucas method with the dwc system, or just go simple with soil? Thanks everyone.

If you're thinking Blackstar, you may want to check out Cidly before pulling the trigger on your purchase. Any other suggestions cost significantly more (Kessil H350/CLW-Solar Flare). Also adding fluoros to your grow will help smaller wattage LED panels with flowering and you should also try to get a panel with 3 watt diodes. And if you're good with hydro go for it, otherwise go with soil which will help by making your grow simpler. Well, that's my take. Good Luck and Happy Growing.

I actually have a Blackstar 240 in one, and it fits perfectly in there, The temps stay around 77F which is what My house stays at. Here is a pic of it if you are interested:)

Aye, so it fits in nice and snug. Temperature obviously isn't a problem. Are you vegging and flowering with the 240? Just wondering if your happy with the results your getting during both veg and flowering. If I had to go the route of the 180 for cost reasons, would you say thats cool or do myself a favor and spring for the 240 for more punch. I've been reading about leds in general bleaching/stunting growth because there too close, well the tent is'nt the highest thing in the world. Have you experienced any of this with the 240 in there? I've also decided on Soil for atleast my first go and save the dwc for the future.

At first, I was vegging the plant in my closet with the blackstar and another LED panel, then I decided to move the BS into the tent, I haven't flowered with the blackstar yet because this is my first grow with it. I haven't bleached a plant yet, and I always keep them about 10-12 inches away during veg, and 8 inches during flower. Since it isn't that tall of a tent, I modified the string on the LED that attach to the light hanger and made them shorter..it was originally about 6-7 inches long, but I made it about 2 inches. TBH, I've never seen the results of a 180, so I can't really tell if it would be better or not:(
