I wanted to reply to the last message but I didn't to try and keep the peace. I don't see any reason at all to not screw down the cobs properly. Only when you wrote think whatever you want my attitude came out. Understand there are thousands reading these threads and even if tape would possibly be fine in the long term it's absolutely not the proper and safest way to do things. Not everyone will take the time and care, not everyone will use thermal adhesive and to top that off with tape is just nuts. No one can say holding down a cob by taped wires is anywhere near as good as a cob holder. As far as my direct experience I'm running 34 cobs in a smaller room now and have close to 50 more set aside for future projects. But along with spending 25 on a cob I spent the extra on the holder. The only thing I can think is drilling and tapping into an active heat sink could be a problem for most. I also feel if that's the case then they shouldn't messing with these anyways. My opinion.
