okay so from my understanding i pop the seeds in the aerogarden, set that bitch to salad greens, and then turn my MH light on? or should i not use a light until it sprouts o_o? i'm all set up i just need to know when to start using the MH light!

and i'm still confused on the distance i need to keep my light throughout the journy :(

i heard like a foot above the plant at all time but i don't know

And what the fuck is an EC Range X_X!

Pre germinate? that would be getting some seeds, paper towels, and water ready? Trying to germinate the seeds is a good idea if you want to save yourself some time. No reason to plant seeds that don't germinate, they won't grow.
Position of the light depends on the type of the light and the age of the plants. HID lights put out a lot of heat and should not be placed to close to young seedlings, because it will burn them. Flourescents don't produce much heat and can therefore be placed much closer to small seedlings. Floro's cost a lot less to operate and since they can be placed closer the plants can get the same amount of usable light without frying.

after u put them in the soil and are waiting for them to sprout out of the ground just leave it on your window seal in a warm enviorment no matter what time of year. and then right after they sprout put them whereever u r planning on growing it.

i know you are supposed to germinate seeds when you use soil. but i'm using the aerogarden. i think my MH light is a bit warmer than the window seal..
