Why must everyone be so difficult?

It's a proven formula, why try and figure something else out.... then you will just come back here asking us for help with your SS being all jacked up.

I am assuming this is your first go around with SS too?
Or you can follow the directions to the T and get Fucked... lol use what plants like, not what others tell you. LABELs dont mean shit, do your research and use common sense

are they just similar or the same? if mined from same place then that would be redundant and i would omit. however, i have seen people that know more than me use both to grow ten pound trees. doesn't mean that they arent wrong though
I suppose that if they are from different places that they would then have varying amounts of trace elements. I want to say that they contain the same trace elements, but maybe in different concentrations. It was just kind of weird when the guy at the store talked me out of buying azomite. granted they only sold it in 50# bags and I don't by any needs ever have need for that much, and I could buy glacial rock dust by the lb for 10 cents a lb. it was kind of awesome that he didn't try to sell me on the azomite.

Well he couldn't very well go around telling people it was crap even if it was...this is business we are talking about...lol. I bet the makers of Colgate toothpaste think it is the best toothpaste on the market if you were to ask them..lol.

Can I get some input on this?
8 bags of roots original
25 lbs of earth worm castings
.5 cu of ancient forest humus
5 lbs of fish bone meal 3-16-0
5 lbs of bat guana 3-10-1
5lbs of blood meal 12-0-0
2.5 lbs of langbeinite 0-0-22
2 cups of azomite
1/2 epsom salt

I was thinking 2.5 lbs of lang would make for an equal npk and add mag and sulf.

Any input from you guys would be appreciated

dolomite, and maybe gypsum

I was thinking about adding gypsum but my water ph is around 9, isnt dolomite more for lower ph ? I believe the fish bone meal has calcium but adding dolomite would help with that

high ph is perfect for gypsum only buffering. the high alkaline input offsets the breaking down of organic matter and the gypsum buffers it. lime keeps ur ph from going too low which clearly wont be the case for you with your 9 ph

Sweet so add gypsum, Should I still use the lengbeinite or is that too much sulfur. Sorry if that is annoying haha

5 lbs Blood meal 12-0-0
5 lbs Bone meal steamed 3-15-0 ( More cal then fish bone )
5 lbs Bat guana 3-10-1
5 lbs Kelp meal 1-.1-2
5 lbs of gypsum
2 cups of azomite
3/4 cup of epson salt

i think anyone tweeking subs recipe should only do so if they have a firm understanding of soil science.
My first run I went with ingredients that were available in local stores (and help from the guy at the hydro store), so my recipe was different from day one. I do not have big knowledge of soil science yet but my tweaking seems to have worked for me... tweaking the recipe is part of the hobby isnt? I believe that is how you will get good understanding of the soil science, trial and error. I always recommend using Subs recipe for the first run coze I dont want anyone to fail with my recipe though, that would be terrible!!

i wouldn't leave out the kelp......if it were my ingredients, i would stick to the fish bone....and double the ewc......the gypsum with the fish bone should be plenty of ca.....but, i would also add a cup or two of dolomite for ca. diversity, and a little extra mg....
