Well theres a good reason why all the legal humungo grows go with hps, its just better pound for pound. When was the last time you saw a glowing purple warehouse grow?

The whole "when was the last time you've seen" argument makes no sense. HPS has been around forever. Of course you will see it everywhere. Why would you expect vero and cxa/cxb to already be in all the giant warehouse grows? It will be at least a few years before people even realize how much better cxb is with the level of stupidity seen in these threads.
I don't care about how frequently I see it. I care about how well it actually works. Over time, I expect to see it more frequently in large grow ops. I've been getting knockout yields with them.
You people telling me "it's not in giant warehouse grows". No shit!! I literally made the first DIY using cxb! Why would you expect it to be in warehouses? The same argument was made only one hour after I finished making the first seen cxb lamp ever. There's a lag between components being released to the market for the first time, and seeing them used conventionally.. You act like these chips have been around for thousands of years with your "it's always been like this" attitude. People said the exact same thing about using lights to grow plants indoors.

What's dumb is that I basically recommend 1000W DE HPS as well. The argument isn't about what you should get, it's about what's better. You're just a jealous SOB if you think a gavita is better than any cxb based DIY. It might be a better value, but it's not a better light. It doesn't come close in efficiency or umol/J.
I never talked shit about HPS. I grew with it for a long time before I switched to vero and cxb. HPS has a low startup cost and proven results, but you've gotta be kidding me if you think it can outperform my 2.4umol/J cxb build.

Gavita - 1.7umol/J (good)
cxb2350 3000k 80cri at 500mA and Tc=35C - 2.4umol/J (about 40% better)
Despite being an inferior lamp, it's still probably the best value for most growers, especially in colder climates.

Side by side time lapse grow , black dog led verses 1000 watt HPS, 5 min video, kinda easy to see what happens, and yet I am a fan of the cxa3070 DIY cob builds, they out grow the 5 watt let chip lights, but still here is a grow using a 700 watt led and a 1000 watt hps, watch it if you like

That video told me absolutely nothing. Where was the dry weigh yield comparison? How dense were the nugs of each led and hps? What is the cost of the led? Also, hard to take someones word on something in a video who is trying to sell their shit.

This is actually a good representation and I can respect the yeild. My argument at this point though is initial setup cost and longevity of a led light.

I paid apprx $40 for a bulb when changed out. How much is it to change out an led when it burns up? The longevity of led appearantly isnt brag worthy if (in a vehicle at least) I can change out a bulb for $1.39 after 10+ years of daily use or pay over $100+ in most cases to replace the whole led housing after less than a year of daily use.. Also, how many guys on here have had their led for 17 years and are still using it? Why would I spend 5-6x the initial investment to get started with led to get the "same" results as hps? Again, yes many are correct when it is said there is a difference in power consumption, but that is eat up on initial investment...again for the "same" results as hps. To me it just seems like you would be jumping over dimes to get nickles?

Lol at whoever said badass warehouses aren't glowing purple . That is so true. Not to mention , bad enough the thought of being raided and having your equipment smashed. I would feel a lot better if they were smashing 500 dollar hps setups than 2k plus led setups that you need twice as many of. Here's a situation no one has talked about... You have to run them so close to the plants... How many times have you hit your head on the fixtures? I couldn't even count the times that I've tried vegging with t5s end up racking my head on the fixture and 3-4 of the 8 bulbs shut off hahah.does this happen to anyone with led? I am still loling at the people saying "smoke your shitty tasting hps buds." Some growers truly have the heads up there ass'. Best part is, I bet less than half of the people arguing this topic have more than a 600 watt setup. So honestly, your opinion is worthless because you don't know your asshole from your elbow.
