Ok I will show you guys how its done! I just have 1 fully colonized jar of wbs, so Im just going to make a small tray and put it in the FC. I didnt have any aluminum trays, so I used a round black plastic 2in plate. As long as light cant get in the sides or the bottom of what you are using...you are good to go!

1st...Take your jar of myc and dump it in a large freezer bag...seal it up and mash it till there isnt any chunks.

Now take your jar of dry verm and put it in a bowl and add water(tap is fine) until its moist and not wet wet.(if you squeeze some in your hand and just a drop or 2 comes out..ur good to go) Now just mix it well with the wbs.

Now take your tray or whatever you are using and dump it in and level it out

Now just cover it up with foil...punch a few holes for gas exchange...put in the incubator and check in 3 days!! More pics to come in 3 days!!

You want to keep your temp around 80 to 84, and pitch dark when incubating. When you go to fruit, you drop the temps 10 to 15 degrees, and and induce light(12/12) and keep the humidity in your FC about 90%. For lights flourescents are perfect because they wont put off alot of heat. (if your FC gets too warm, they wont fruit!)

sweet deal kush
this definately helps me seeing how this is exactly what i will soon be doing.
thanks for the steps and pics

what kind of mushies will these be?

what did you use?
Wild Bird Seed and Vermiculite..The WBS has to be rinsed, and then simmered in a pot for 15 to 20 min on med heat, then lay out on the counter on paper towels to dry...(usually takes a couple hrs) it should be dry to where the seeds dont stick together. Now they are dry on the outside, but the seed is still full of water. Next just fill your jars up 3/4 full(you dont want em full, because you will be shaking later to spread the myc out for faster colonization)I like to add 2 Tbls of dry verm to each jar to absorb any axcess water that might get in while PC'n. Take your lid and poke 4 holes in it using a hammer and nail(inoculation points) now you have holes in the lids, put them on the jars of wbs and tighten down and wrap foil over the jar lids to keep water out when pressure cooking. Load the jars in the PC and PC for 1 hr at 15PSI. Let cool for atleast 6 to 8 hrs before taking out of the PC. Now you are going to need some micro pore tape to cover up the 4 holes on each jar to keep contams out. Cover the holes as quick as you can, now just inoc the jars with your spore syringe and put another piece of MP tape as soon as you noc the jar up. Now just put in your incubator till fully colonized!(usually 2 to 3 weeks)Should be solid white when ready!

Here is an update...24hrs later. This just shows you how quick myc grows!!

It will be ready to case in 2 days, and go in the FC. I also have a PF cake in the fridge I am going to throw in when the tray is ready.(same strain)

sweet..you got any clue how much you should get from this one casing?
and how do you flush you casing? pour water into whatever pan or plate its in, then pour out and case?

today i had to leave my cakes which were just pinning, starting their 3rd flush
traveling across the country for thanksgiving
oh well, ill have more to start when i get back:hump:

I will probably get 14 to 21g.....by the time I get a couple more flushes out of itI will probably have close to 2 oz. As for re-casing...I have flooded the trays....but now I just patch in the chuck holes and spread a verry thin layer of verm and mist the hell out of it!

Well, its time to case! Here is what it should look like..if you notice the little fingers growing on it..its called rhizomorphic myc. The more rhiz growth...the better.

Next sprinkle dry verm over the myc(I like to put it on dry, so you dont damage the myc when spreading it out) and get it as even as you can...but not going over 1/4 an inch.
CaseingLayer004.jpg

Now take a spray bottle and spray it with a fine mist until its nice and damp..but not soaked!!
CaseingLayer005.jpg

Now just put in the Fc, and I use a single 24in flourescent set on a timer(12/12)

I will post some more pics in 2 or 3 days...when they start to pin!

Excellent instructions Kush. I told you I would be up to check it out tonight! Thanks for all the info too. Can't wait to see them start pinning. Unfortunately I still havn't heard back about my syringes, and I'm kinda annoyed,I hope this gets straightened out! I wonder if they havn't shipped them by friday if i can get him to through in a spore syringe? The extra 21 bucks for 3 day shipping is what gets me
