keep or trash? poor seedling growth help (pics inside)

I don't normally nurse any patient through poor germination but I have no more genetics apart from an ancient sativa I have become immune to.

Anybody had experience where something this flimsy pulls through? I won't waste my time if the general consensus is negative. I think I left the humidity dome on too long and it might be dampening off? Never seen this before.

in my opinion it should be fine, i take it by what i see from the pics your growing hydro? if you use soil im not sure but i dont think it would hurt it if you were to cover some of that extra stem with a mound of dirt around it. i had a seedling's stem get bent over from too much air on it so i braced it with a cut straw kinda like yours only less suportive and now its not going anywhere Very healthy. Goodluck and just make sure it doesnt get pushed by any air on it untill its more suportive ill take a guess and say keep it and by a week itll be more supportive and you may be able to put some air across it if you wanted.. ^^^ I have to somewhat respectfully disagree diamond in small part. I have found when a plant has a non supporting stem that gentle air flow will help speed up the time it takes to support itself. He has the right idea with the collar around the stem to keep it supported and still allow some movement which will encourage the growth.
I grow in soil and when they get like that with me I just normally bury them up past the weak spot on the stem. Anyway if there is green left it the plant try and keep them alive, every rescue attempt will give you a bit more knowledge on the workings of a plant.

i agree with you respectfully disagreeing with me. i dont know everything i also am not the most experienced by any means. im just trying to help out. thanks canefan ill try and remeber incase i get into issue like that.

I now always use a fan on new seedlings. Before using the fan I ended up with 8-9-inch toothpix in the solo cups that were
very difficult to TP. The fan encourages the new, thin stem to bulk up to support the plant. That's a good thing.

I never use the dome for seedlings as a rule but with 20%RH I gave it a shot and got that thin section half way down the seedling as seen in the images. I always have healthy seedlings so I freaked out (either healthy or they dont even pop). There was no fan on it in the dome, but there is now. The cube dries out every 8 hours or so so i can soak it in PH5.5 rhizotonic treated water. should be good to try and stimulate the roots.

Just cant get over the thin section. It looks like a goner. I thought it could be an air lock or something to that effect in the stem. Still hasn't died yet though

Also, I have buried weak stems in hydroton in hydro setups jsut like I have buried stems in soil. works the same in my experience.

I had a new seedling get bent totally over below the cotyledons...so I just buried the whole thing...and what used to be the stem grew roots, and she never even knew she had been broken in half...lol. Your seedling looks just fine in my opinion
