Just Starting

So I germinated and succesfully sprouted 3 little plants outdoors (in cups) around 5 days ago. I got a 18" 15w flourescent bulb and brought them indoors today, I have the bulb around 3-4" away from the plants... I fjust found this forum today after setting it up and I'm pretty sure thats nowhere near enough light I was wondering if there was anything inexpensive that I could buy locally as far as lighting goes? Could I use one of those reptile heat lamps and put another bulb in it? And does anyone have any opinions on using horse manure for fertilizer?

Horse & cow manure is fine, unless the Hay they eat comes from a field that has been sprayed with Herbicide-weed killer. Then, guess what? Rabbits eat Alfalfa, no sprays, it's very mild for your plant. For lites, nothing under 400 watts. I use 1,000 HPS at night & pure sunlight in the day. 24/24, until 13 hours or more daylight, around May. Your lite should be as CLOSE to you plant as possible, without burning. Place hand over top of Babiy, move lite so close to your hand that you feel heat. When the time before your hand gets hot is 4 seconds, then that's the distance, which changes every day. A VERY gentle breeze helps, also. To test manure for chemicals, Put some in 5 gal. bucket, add water to cover, sit 24 hours, stir & pour on any broad leaf weed. If weed is dead the next day, don't use the shit.Sterile manure can be bought under the "Black Kow" label. You can trust that shit. Hope this helped. If anything go get a couple of 24 watt floros from home depot.They also sell an aquarium light that is good for plants,its a purplish bulb.They come in t-5,and t-12 i believe.I have 4 single 24 inch florescent.2 t-5 and 2 t-12 at about 24 watts a piece screwed to a piece of plywood.I use this for cloning as well as sprouts and i grow under there till they are about 1 foot tall.Plenty of light.

You can do it with pretty much nothing m8 , check out my ghetto grow in my sig , basically the better the light the better the results duel blue and red set ups work best good luck.

p.s. your streching your plants get your light closer put your hand by the bulb, if it gets warm on your hand its gonna burn them so find a suitable distance , close but not to close.
