Just saw a robbery....

....and did nothing.

Now I feel bad but there was nothing I could do singlehandly against 3 guys who robbed an old man.

I was more concerned when they followed us down into the metro but we were a big group, mainly of girls.
There were 2 guys in the group who are tiny, smaller than me.

What would you have done? Why am I never with my dog/bf when these things happen? Will it be my turn next? It was sickening tbh.

if i was with abig group of girls, i wouldve yelled at the three guys and started calling 911.


if i was a lone, i wouldve called 911, while at a distance...

its all situational .....its hard not to feel bad in that situation, i think everyone would make a different choice.

I'd be like yea let's rob this bitch, we'll split half the goods

This is how it happened. I'd been to a huge office party on the beach and loads of us left together to walk to the metro. They are all a bit drunk except for myself and my friend who also isn't drinking.

As we approach the station I see 3 guys hanging around and I notified the others to watch them.

As we walked past them, the two guys in our group go down the metro steps first leaving us girls to follow.

I'm aware of these guys the whole time and as we walk down I see them closing in on an old spanish guy who is blatantly drunk. They attempted the Ronaldiño and pick pocketed his bag. They saw us see it all. I shouted ahead for our guys to wait up for us.

We told them what happened and went downstairs to the platform, presuming they would run off. No! They came down on the platform with us but further behind and sat down near some girl and started fairly chatting to her. We thought ! Oh no! At least the cameras are rolling down here.

Then we all got on the metro, the next victim got away from them and walked down the train right past us.

The problem is for this criminal act of street robbery you only get a fine! To by absolute surprise, they weren't Romanian Gypsies or moraccans, they were Pakistani!!!!! If only I'd had my pitbull!

So, what could be done. The guys were wimps, we girls didn't want to lose our stuff next. The police do fuck all about it. What can you do?

Last time I called the cops, I went to jail... so with that being said..

If I see them again, I'll recognise them. Pick pockets never steal evidence like credit cards or keep designer handbags. If the police turned up or Id have called them, where's the evidence? They only get a fine?!? Wtf? I'm in the wrong job!

I take it y'all don't have guns.. In Texas it happens, but you got 50% chance of getting shot by the victim around here or if caught 2 to 5 if it was just a strong arm robbery, more if you are a convict or aggravated

I'm sitting here confused. Bit angry at myself and also doubting whether in fact it was better to stay out of it, keep my group alert and together etc.

My bf is back on Monday and it's times like this I miss him the most. I wanna know what he'd say.

Why was a man of that age out drunk at 3am something anyway? They know it's not safe.

Exactly but if I just take the dog and he attacks them I can say it was in self defense.

One of the girls in the group is American/catalan and we spoke about guns over there.

my ideal woman wld be able to say this, and mean it.

Yeah and that is why my dog goes everywhere with me! People are scared shitless of dogs like ours.. It's funny people are like is he safe to pet.. No he is extremely aggressive that's why he is at bar with me!?!? People are idiots lol

I would have applied 26 pounds of pressure and ripped off one of their ears. Then I would have came after another one dropping him to the floor with a scissor kick.while he was down I would have put my foot on his neck to close his throat. I would have ended the situation by ripping out the last guys throat using the 28 pound pressure death grip while my foot was still applying 22 pounds of pressure to his buddy's neck.. ...

Had that today with some American tourists in the park!! He asked me first if my dog was ok and I said yes and then he put his hand over the head rather than under the nose and his friends started saying "that's a sure bet way to get bit! You have to ....". I replied "well the best bet is really to ask the owner first!" Which he did!
My dog looks so much like yours. He's still really nice natured with other dogs.

ha but only in emergencies, not just for kicks..

I think u def chose the correct course of action, prioritizing, by playing it safe and watching out for your group. mixed feelings r understandable

What annoys me is the whole working in 3 thing. Individually most of you guys on RIU could beat the fuck out of them. They are pussies deep down and bullies. Even the smallest guy was quite big compared to me. God I'm getting angry again, I hop we bump into them.

Many years ago my ex bf and I reported a group to a station security who just pick pocketed a rucksack but nothing could be done. They pass the goods amongst the group to get away. Discard wallets and cards on the way, job done. Under covers get them, that's the only way and then it's a fine.

I think I did the right thing. I saw it coming, told the others, kept them together and then organised who's getting off at stops together. I had pepper spray once and I had to use it, the police took it off me but I was fine.
