i gonna start with 4 32 watt cfls.and add more as needed. only gonna run one plant in there at a time or i might just use it for my mother plant. not to sure yet.

Well my question is should i start it in a 12 oz cup or can i just start it in my 3.5 gallon bucket. will my roots be stronger if i start it in the 12 oz cup then transplant or does it even matter.:?:

Start in the party cup and move up as needed. Also, buy a hps light for flowering. You won't be sorry.

In a 3x3 I dont think so. Hed get more bang for his buck with cfls in my opinion

In that case, your opinion means nothing to me. I grow in a smaller space with 400 watts of hid plus supplemental cfl. I can pull in a half pound every two months easy. Can you do that with cfls? Answer: no you can't.

Also, no matter how you look at it you get more lumens per watt with hps over cfl. So your "bang for buck" theory is crap.

Congrats pj out of all 310 of post you are the first one to come at me like that, I dont grow in cabs, I was stating my opinon, 3x3 seems very small to me, heat issues plus you have to add plant height ect, and if your growing in a smaller area that that with a 400 good for you. You dont need to act like that.

Sorry to piss you off. I just hate it when people give noobs terrible advise like "use cfl's" Bottom line is cfl's are terribly inefficient. HIDs are good for all spaces when flowering. If you have a small space, you can get a small HID, and easily double your yield. Here's my smaller space under 400w hps, pic taken a couple weeks ago -- no way cfls could do this:
