Just A Couple Questions, Wanna get an early start!! calling all nor cal patients.

ok i gotta few questions in a few different areas. first off, my last grow last year (which was also my first grow) came out surprisingly successfull. springs right around the corner so im hoping to get an early start on things. i already got the babies in the nursery vegging at 20/4 light schedule, not sure what soil theyre in im giving them bottled spring water for the time being.

last year i gave them tap water twice a week, and fed every third watering (earth juice sugar peaks).

this year i plan on doing "the works" im going to ph every watering, ph the soil and try to grow some top shelf outdoor dank!

so here are my questions:

1. i had originally planned on buying approx: 10 bags of FFOF soil. BUT, i recently found some "similiar" soil at home depot called "Kelloggs Patio Plus" organic soil< which i did my homework on and folks say its some good shit comparable to that of FFOF! what do you guys think? if its decent enough ill grab 20 bags of this instead of 10 bags of the FF. heres a pic n link to the info, feel free to leave your opinions.

Use in outdoor containers & raised planters or simply add to existing soil
Rich blend of all natural, organic materials to help plants thrive in changing outdoor conditions
Bigger, brighter plants— Guaranteed!

Available Sizes: 20 Quart
1.5 Cubic Feet

2: im growing some "blackberry kush"< i was super siked about it until i heard from somebody at the club that the stuff molds super easy. any reccomendations to help me avoid this problem for this strain? the shits already got powdery mildew which im treating with the safe brand "3 n 1" spray.

3. so im debating on going all organic (mor than likely going with earth juice verde fire) OR going chem and doing the GH 3 step program. what im looking for is to get all the weight i can with still a very good (top shelf) quality. what do you folks thing?

4. and last but not least what date should i go outside? i would like to go in at a time that wont send me into flower right away so i have them vegging in the nursery right now< but hopefully i have them taking off once they go outside. this question is for the folks in the greater sac area.

thx alot folks!

just FYI heres a list of the strains im growing this year for the folks that have experience with these girls feel free to drop some advice and tips< i need all the input i can get>

thx again!

Hey, #1-ff, #2- nursery is probably to humid, #3- There's debates on that, as far as adding weight, that's mosyly genetics, LST works great. #4- I'm just a little southwest of you and I put outmy seedlings from mid May - June 1. Good luck.

Go and read my soil mix on my thread. You will only need to add water if you follow me. You can look at my grow from last year I use Kellogs also. Just cook it for a month minimum two weeks so you are now behind. If you need help finding the ingredients I can point you in the right direction. Good Luck dirrtyd

You can find it at a nursery or Ace hardware depending on where you live. I dislike hydro shops. dirrtyd

I would think twice about your sativa dominant strains such as the Jack Hererra as they take so long to mature. Unless you have a greenhouse you will be experiencing problems in getting them to finish in NorCal outdoors. J.H. takes up to 9 Months to finish out which will leave you trying to salvage your crop in Feb or Mar. next year.

Otherwise sounds good.

I used the Kellog Patio Plus last year on my outdoor grow and had no problems with it. I added Blood and bone meal as well as epsom salts and worm castings. Good product at a reasonable price. I now get all my garden soil from the local worm farm which keeps my costs down considerabley. They have a good mix for 65.00 a yard which I use as a base material.
