Howdy farmers. Ive been around a while, Don't post too much.
Lately I have gotten away from the big name poly hybrids and have found an appreciation for the old school genetics.

Naturally, I found my way to Mr Nice Seedbank and Research. I am now stocked up with a good stash( critical mass, Critical Haze, angels breath, Nordle, shark shock, master kaze, dream time, shark shock, Walkabout...) and have started running through them looking for keepers.

Here's where I'm at so far:

Critical Haze: 2 weeks into 12/12

Walkabout: 3 weeks in
Indica pheno:

Sativa pheno:

This is my second run with Critical Haze and I am determined to keep a cut of this around for a while. Awesome day time smoke and it tastes like berries and the all too easily forgotten piff flavor.

The Walkabout is a BLAST. Lots of different plants in the mix and the frosty indica may be around for a while if she finishes strong.

Next round will be Nordle and Shark Shock along with any keepers from this round.

Will update pictures as they progress.

Out of 8 I had 3 males.

Not too bad. It varies so much though. I've planted 4 and gotten 3 males before as well so it really is a crap shoot in my book.

I will add that I start counting flower period after the plant has started the actual flowering process. Usually a week or two in the 12/12 room before I put it on the calander.

Blueberry Walkabout pheno:

This girl is phenomenal. Looks to finish in under 8 weeks and the smell is strong strong strong. The blueberry aroma she is putting out is overpowering the other 12 plants in flower easily. Very happy with this jem I found in the Walkabout pack.

Thanks MrGreen.

I was shocked when she started putting out the blueberry smell. I spent 9euro on a pack of 18 seeds of the Walkabout. I have found nothing but interesting plants and this one super stinker. I wonder what else is in the WA line...

I can't wait to sample this one. I haven't had any real blueberry tasting bud in several years!

If she cures out and keeps that berry aroma I'm going to hand out clones of her to anyone interested. Blueberry needs to make a comeback :)

Oh yeah man.
The walkabout line is the bee's knees!

The blueberry keeper I found has been in my garden this whole time and at points has been my only keeper in the stable.

Nice hybrid high, I'm thinking it's a shit variety.

Walkabout is a treasure trove man. You'll find a couple plants worth keeping, I'm sure!

thanks for the quick reply.

so is the walkabout blueberry similar at all to the original dj short version or is it totally different and just smells/tastes like blueberry?

i grew a royal queen blueberry and it pretty much sucked ass.....never again.

to keep your blueberry did you clone it before flow or reveg after harvest or just what?

still noobish here.....thanks again for the feedback!

Howdy,
I'd say it is unlike any blueberry I've seen, however I do not have tons of effort put into chasing the blueberry strains. The girl I found in WA was pure luck!

She is different in that she grows like a skunk/sativa hybrid under most conditions. Kinda loose collections of calyxes make up the nug structure that do get decently dense. She purples up a lot at the end of flower. The taste and aroma is blueberry all the way through! Lavender mixes in after a while as well.
I will update this thread with some pics within the next couple days.

As far as keepers go- I veg plants until they show sex and then take clones. I usually then flower the seed plant.

I will then take another clone from the first clone and put the original clone into flower before the seed plant finishes. I like to do this because certain plants will not flower the same when grown from clone vs the seed plant.

So to summarize, I take a clone of everything I grow before flowering. I then wait until after cured bud samples can happen before deciding to trash something or to put it on the keeper list.

I would also like to add that the other plants I found in the WA were clearly a mixed seed collection. Some of the haziest bud I've ever smoked came from that pack. There was also a NL leaning plant that was a real crowd favorite with my friends.
Now I'm growing Angels Breath and I see a male that is an exact doppelganger of a WA male I killed and had notes on....
So- who knows what treasure awaits you out of your 15.

How are they looking so far?

Stay Hazed man,
Jake

Here's a crummy camera phone photo.

This is actually my last run with this girl due to losing the mother plant and the rest of my veg group.

She's a bit over 8 weeks and I have her finishing out under the sun and in my garage at night.

HazEd,
Jake
