Tupurroyal gold as in coco? you have to charge the new coco with cal+mag at transplant the new coco will suck it out of the plant if you dont!
its not pure coco. theres alot of aged forest material in it. alot. i used 200 ppm of calmag ontop of my gh 3 part. that should be plenty of cal and mag.

I will add to this but, for now I am going to share my opinion and some links, others will join in.

These are the Jacks/JR that work and do the same and better than the expensive brands.
Soil Based Media (Currently Only Available thru Martins Produce Supplies)
Jacks 15-20-28 Fertilizer AquaGold Grow N' Bloom (VEG + 2 weeks in flower (3 weeks for long strains)
Jacks 7-15-30 Fertilizer AquaGold Finisher (Remaining Flower)

Peat Based Media
Jack's Hydro Feed 16-4-17
or
Jack's Professional Calcium Magnesium LX 15-5-15

Hydroponic
Jacks Classic 4# 5-12-26 Hydroponic
&
Jack's 15-0-0 Cal-Trate

Blossom Booster
Jacks Classic No.1.5 10-30-20

These are the 3 staples of Jacks that will provide you with the exact nutrients you need to grow healthy plants and have great yields.

You are welcome to use a Bloom Booster and that is why I listed one but, it is not necessary. Actually, I don't believe in the "BIG P MYTH"

(I add some Canna P/K 13/14 for 1 week and that's it.) I have only seen a slight boost in yield with higher P/K and that was in a friends grow which was desperately in need of more available nutrients. He was a seriously weak feeder, maybe 0.2EC at most in soil)
Good info! I used Peters when I started growing in the 80s when there wasn't a million shiny bottles available for next day delivery and I had great results with it

For a while now I've been considering doing exactly what this thread's about when I run out of my gallons of GH

No you don't; this stuff is not straight Coco.
LOL hate to break it to you but its almost exactly like coco coir where the coco locks out and SUCKS UP any mag or calcium you have in your plant. when you TRANSPLANT make sure you are charging CAL-MAG or it will give you problems .

"It is a blank slate to create your own high performance feeding regimen. As a coco fiber based soilless medium, it requires high levels of calcium and magnesium to unlock its true potential. "

Says it on the product description.

Did you talk to the owner at the trade show? He told me they use a lot of biochar to build buffering capability.

Did you talk to the commercial growers using it? They run EC as high as 3.4 and kill it.

Product descriptions are notoriously incomplete in this industry, as they don't want people stealing their secrets.

I'm not going to read this entire thread.....but I'm a Jack's guy all the way.

About 5 years ago I thought I was ordering Jack's general feed (20-20-20) but instead ordered their bloom booster (10-30-20). Out of necessity I started running the bloom booster from beginning to end and with Happy Frog the plants did amazing. Hell, I even use it for clones with almost 100% success.

I do find that I need to add cal/mag every-other feeding in flower.

I hang out at my local hydro store as I have friends working there, and it boggles my mind what people pay for nutrients. I suspect when used correctly AN products will produce good bud, but between the crazy cost and the 12 different steps using it, I'm not sure why those growers do not search for a simple feed that works just as well.

I've been banned from mentioning Jacks at the store.

Jacks and dry nutrients like it are banned because they're what the rest of the agricultural industry uses. Only hydro stores sell those expensive nutes and even they only do it because they have to in order to get access to the rest of the equipment that's actually profitable.

I hear you! .. the thing that's scary is when a noob comes in and they're having plant problems and you ask what are you feeding and they show you 8 to 12 different bottles, and they're still wondering why they've got everything screwed up!?

..use a freaking one part like you said, a 20-20-20 or similar and on top of saving all that money they will have a lot better success rate too, just my opinion

@ttystikk did you use equal parts jacks to cal nit in rdwc? Ive found a coco recipie that I'm gonna use but for rdwc I see people doing 800ppm max with starting out at a 1-1 ratio.... any suggestions?

so with the 5:4 do you even need any added epsom or does the 5-11-26 have enough?
I would add some, half as much by weight as calcium nitrate. Do NOT mix these two together dry or at high concentration, as the calcium and sulfur will bind, 'flocculate', and drop out of solution as... gypsum.

I recently picked up Jacks 321 after seeing the success that GreenGene has had using it. My sample size is small so I don't want to speak too soon, but in the couple weeks I've been using it I've been extremely pleased with the results. I currently grow in a flood & drain system with coco & hydroton as the mediums. Below is a breakdown of how I use Jacks. This recipe gets me right around 650-700 PPM (1.3-1.4 EC) on the 500 conversion, and so far the plants have been loving it.

Reservoir
20 Gallons of RO water

Jacks 5-12-26
2.4 grams per gallon = 48 grams

Calcium Nitrate
1.6 grams per gallon = 32 grams

Magnesium Sulfate (epsom salt)
.80 grams per gallon = 16 grams

Mammoth P
.6ml/gal = 12ML

Biocozyme
2.5ml/gal = 30 ML

Recharge
Small scoop, don' really measure it.

That will work fine. Just keep the ratios consistent with each other and don't mix the epsom salt with the calcium mutate until they're both in solution.

Good advice there @ttystikk . To your point, I've been using a digital scale to ensure all parts are measured to my desired ratios. Then what I do is mix the Jacks & Epsom Salt in one bucket (with 2 gals of water) until it is fully dissolved, and use a separate bucket (with 2 gals of water) to mix the calnit until it's also dissolved. I only fill my res up to 16 gallons until I'm ready to add these 4 gallons in to get to 20 gallons. From there I'll make minor adjustments and add in my extra goodies like Mammoth P, Biocozyme, and Recharge.

mg heavy for seeds @25% 275ppm. @.7 Mg per gallon. this happen to yall at first, then they grow more mg hungry with more leaves?? or do you think the ppm is too much for a 2 day old seed?

Been using earth juice and soil for a while now until I got some jacked up soil. I added garden lime and this soil is still acidic. Plants look like straight shit and growth stopped. So I'm going to try my hand at dwc. Which Jack's products would best suit my needs. My tap water is 6.8 ph and is city water. I'm going with plain ole dwc and not rdwc. Dont want to deal with all that plumbing and the possibility of leaks. Just an airstone in a 5 gallon bucket with a 6 inch net pot lid. What's the benefits of recirculating with rdwc? Is all that extra plumbing, money, and time worth going with rdwc. Please explain the added benefits.

If you can't handle soil stay the fuck away from dwc lol.

but you need to keep your water at 68 degrees. not easy to do if you dont have a recirculating setup with a chiller. its possible, but not likely. impossible if you cant figure out soil tho.
