Tastes like ass.....this batch just finished evaping....its the color and texture im looking for....but tastes terrible....is it because the trim I used was old and dry?.....the other batches ive made have been from popcorn buds and prime trim....and the taste was amazing.....like the strain times ten.....this is all new to me so stil figuring things out...and my second question is even tho it tastes kike ass should it stil be potent?.....ive only tried one hit cause its stil not ready to be collected yet20130706_172142.jpg20130706_172109.jpg20130706_172146.jpg20130706_172157.jpg

Stuff straight off the plant?

This batch was made from some critical kush trim another grower gave me....he grows to sell and doesnt do anything w his trim...hes just not into it like that....so now he gives me his trim but this trim was old dry n crumbly but loaded w resin....idk whats up w it.
 
Frozen trim frozen iso and even did the procedure inside the freezer...well my arms n the jar n stuff were inside the freezer.
 
Hmmmm. Imma say the oldness jacked it up.

it may have been through too much heat stress, or etc when stored . Or just stored Improperly.

All in all, preserving the freshness is key. It happens though...... You should try and request a fresh batch of trim from the guy. Tell him it makes a world of a difference. Cheers qwiso Vega :)
 
Yeah I treat my trim like bud....dried n cured the same way......he obviously treats his like trash....literally caUse thats what hes always done w it before I convinced him to let me get it to make hash w....old school cat been growing since 60s...he grows a crop flips it and then another...and another...sea of green style growing for profit....he could give a fuck abt his trim....I told him if hes just gonna let it go bad like that I cant use it anymore....its a waste imo

Oh, well shit.
If you didn't even have a hand in growing it, you have no idea how he cured it or even grew it.
It's probably something beyond your control.
 
He grows it under hid lighting in soil w earth juice nutes...hes an awesome grower but I dont repect him at all....he doesnt even cure his weed...and its critical kush fuckin purple dank...he fucking hangs it for two day brown bags it for a day then sells it....it never even sees a jar...and I assume he trims on the floor n sweeps it up cause he handed me a brown bag w abt a pound of trim...dry as a bone crumbly...w dog hairs in it...I spent two hours picking dog hairsoutta what was once beautiful trim im sure....but hey the dummies round here gobble his buds up at $20a gram he cant grow enuf of it or keep it....soon as he cuts it its basically sold n out the door so he wont change his ways long as its puttin $ I his pocket....ima try n convince him hash is worth $$ too...ha

Haha.....yeah I was like wtf?!?!?!....all this beautiful resin coated trim...cut on the floor n swept up w dog hairs.....this dude turns out 20plants every 6weeks....hes been doing this for decades and has never done anything w his trim....I dont even think he knows what can be done w it.

ha....im sure he is....I live in a pretty lame area....hes the onlly other grower I know around here n I just met him thru a dude I used to get weed from and only cause I had a situation recently where I had to toss a couple flowering plants n didnt wanna really "toss" em so gave em to this dude to finish in his grow room....ive never been to his house as hes paranoid cuase he grows for profit in an illegal state....I dont exactly know what kinda operation he has exactly but I do know I get his trim from now on...and hes producing feminized seeds up there n doesnt even know it....he grows the same strain same plants clone after clone....all females obviously...but everyonce in a while his weed has seeds...I guess for whtever reason he has a herm in there cause everyonce in a while ull fi d seeds in his weed....so u gotta herm pollinating females...ive had this happen to me...all seeds were female...and every seed ive grown out from him has been female...ive grown out 6....in my experience when a sttaight female gets hit w hermi pollen the seeds have always been female.....maybe ive just been lucky idk but I save every seed I get from him. ...and ive got a bunch
 
Yeah im thinking I have access to all the critical kush female seeds id ever want....ive got abt 100 rite now n they keep comin...ha
 
One of the plants I gave him was a cross of my own...bubblicious crossed w querkle....it was 100% female and 5weeks floweri g when I gave it to him.....he gave me a half oz of it when it finished n it had seeds it it.....I talked to the dude he gave the rest if the plant too and got the seeds from him too....so its a querkle/bubbleicious crossed w critical kush....ive got one goin nowView attachment 2728053View attachment 2728055...so brand new strain....ive got abt 60of these seeds....it should be FUNK
 
the one problem with those seeds now is that they are now more prone to hermi, or they will hermi at the same time as the parent plant hermied while in harvest. so if the parent plant they came from hermied at week 6 the beans you pop will hermi in flower at week 6, or if they hermied due to stress from lack of water, if you miss a day watering and they get a little dry they will hermi. reason being it is a survival reaction, so the parent plant stressed and hermied because of lack of water so it puts into that seeds hey we might not get water at some point in time so be ready just in case. plants will do that for heat, water, lack of light, a certain nute.

those fem seeds are not the same as they ones you get from the banks
 
i am in an illegal state too, and unless hes selling his shit at dirt prices he would have farmed him self out of business down here with all those seeds.

Your trouble lies within the trim my friend, obviously you've already gotten your answer.

Always consider on concentrating of any nature, you can only get out what was put in.

Fuck, I'd ask the guy if you could do the trimming as a means of fair trade?
” hey, I feel terrible just taking your trim, allow me to trim for you, and consider the trim itself as” payment for your services.

Or, as you stated, maybe mention how his trim DOES have value, if he took care while trimming, you can make a very appealing product with monetary value.

Then, offer to split the yield with him.
 
Got a story in relation..

A few weeks ago, my good friend calls me up and asks if I wanted to make hash for a friend of his.

Well, of course I do, what's he working with?..

Tells me he has two pounds of trim, and at this point I get excited, knowing the possibilities with two pounds of trim.
I told him, well, lets just start small and go from there.
Picked up the trim, which was all tied up in grocery bags, do I didn't inspect it at the time of pick up.

Anyhow, I get the trim home, and...

Oh no.. Just fan leaves with dirt, rocks, dog hair, maybe 5% of the trim had any visible trichomes.

I found bugs, worms rocks, red balls of something..nastiest trim ever.

So, I call immediately..I'm like...
Uh, dude, did you look at this shit?
No, what's up?
Man, I cant do anything with this, it's disgusting.

God damn, them I had to tell the guy that owned the trim..

Felt horrible, as the guy got took.. He bought the trim, thinking he could turn” trash into hash”

Man, that was a hard conversation...haha
