I suggest reading a few of the treads up right now..."what's the deal with bho"I think its called... "iso" and really any of the winterizing or purging threads..........do some research man

My opinion is it should never be heated

Removes terps, degrades thc, and darkens the color
It might be alright for most..but I notice and experienced oil smokers will taste the difference...I also grow landrace sativas and expect the high to carry over

It does somewhat darken the color I agree, but it only degrades terpines and THC when heated excessively in my experience. I puff my oils straight, not on top of bud so I know exactly what the end effect is. I don't see how you can really judge hash oil if you always smoke it with bud as you acknowledged in another thread.

There are cold hard facts regarding THC degradation in conjunction with heat. These are facts not opinions. Do some research. THCa converts to THC first, then the degradation begins. Just got to find the right window of time.

I'm actually making burgers at the moment :) and don't feel the need to argue with you....but I've put up many studies showing degradation and am aware of all the processes at place.. I'm fairly certain I know more chemistry than you

Its decarbed when lighting it.. doing it beforehand is indeed degradation

Like I said before it depends on how much you heat. Any blanket statements such as the one above will always be wrong.

No just yours?
Its decarbed as soon as you vaporize it.. so any form of decarbing beforehand is degradation

A wonderfully true statement

Besides you have no idea what I may or may not know. Besides I know deadheads who don't even have a GED who know more about making hash oil than the chemistry professors at the college I work for.

That's like saying that shaving my face removes hair, so if I trim it first I'm removing skin.

I don't get it...just kidding. I never used ISO only Everclear but I found that using no heat is the best way and if you need to speed up evap time add a fan or something.

LOL!

OP; for sure go read some more posts on here but for ISO I like a consistency achieved by some heat. A griddle though is pretty hot; unless its digital or you have a infrared temperature sensor of sorts (whatever its called im high) I would use the double boil method (at the lowest setting) if you must. (You can always let it air dry with a fan). This way it doesn't get over 212; ISO boils at 180.5 so if the pot of water boils the ISO will move FAST; do it outside and pay attention.

you haven't really shown much knowledge of anything..... well in this section i could careless in the other sections, and yea i would imagine a pot head that makes hash would know more about making hash then a college professor

pot head vs. chem prof. bet the pot head gets it to wax first.....

Sorry I haven't been around here in the last couple of months since you joined buddy. Making quality iso hash isn't rocket science, and doesn't require much more info than what I posted a month before you joined this forum: https://www.rollitup.org/concentrates-extracts/607984-need-iso-guide-pictures-please.html#post8489252
