Is this what they call powdery mildew on buy buds? w/pics

Hello everyone,

Been buying decent amounts of bud lately because I smoke quite a lot. I live in a country where weed is still seen as illegal. I've recently passed by my dealer and got some buds but this time I'm really not sure it's actually good stuff. It has like thc crystals on it but way too much and thick, kinda looks like salt altough on the outside it looks like a pretty decent bud. Doesn't smell super great but also not very bad, little bit sweet. Could anyone with more experience check my photo's out and if possible confirm because I'd need to know if it's time to give my dealer a word.

I've done a couple of hours research on this subject and I came to the conclusion that it's moldy. I don't think it went super far but I am almost certain it's powdery mildew.

From the pics, it does look covered in PM.

Take a pic with your flash instead of that orange light, it will help show the texture better.
 
Here you go, couldn't zoom in more camera wouldn't let me. :(
It also has a very intense smell it's like it's sweet but with a sour penetrating smell if my smelling is correct.

i'm assuming it's infected weed fuck me, now would washing them with 3% peroxide actually do something or should I just trow it away. btw smoked 1 joint and it literally tasted like dirt but I got fairly high.
 
I cracked one open and this was the shot I was able to get. Inside there isn't any sign of real mold, the spiderweb thingy. But there is something else, kinda white powdery. looks a little bit like the thc-crystals but they are not clear at all and way thicker. (look at the image in original location and the quality will be better)

Yeah, I am going to get and try to use a microscope 100x to see for the obvious signs and trow it away I guess, sigh fuck this illegal market.. and def. not going back though.
 
You mentioned peroxide water.
Throw a nug in swoosh it around and see if you have pm floating on the water.
If not then it's not pm
I can't tell from the pics

Im not sure you even need to go that far, I was mostly thinking out loud.
If you can rinse that shit off with a spray bottle it's not trichomes.

But you see what I'm getting at.
Thrichomes don't wash off easily

If it turns out to be pm I don't know what's good now.
Jorge has a video of him cleaning it with peroxide water.
But tons of people are shutting in that idea so I honestly don't know who is correct at this point.

So we've put in under a microscope 100x, 250x and 450 and what we've found was a somewhat concerning. It is definitely not the thrichomes, but it didn't look like mold of powdery mild. So we decided to look a bit at the actual particles on the buds which were very easy to obtain just by squeezing the bud a bit. Under the microscope it looked like a solid ice block which got me kinda scared because I cannot find similar looking pictures online so I think they might've laced the weed with something to get more weight. It does not look like salt, baking powder, sugar, hairspray, cocaine, meth or chalk so I've no idea. I'm guessing or it is powdery mildew or it's something like a crushed pill or something idk.

I've also put a bud in just some water and a lot of dust-looking stuff came off it, gonna dry it and see tomorrow how it looks and i'm probably going to try the peroxide tomorrow.

But just looking at the buds gave me and my friends a disgusted look because we are all agreeing it's definitely not what a proper bud should look like.

to be honest I'm thinking it will be in our best interest to trow it away, 100 g's straight to the garbage..

Friend of him over here, the particles seriously looked like ice blocks sticking together
 
Im willing to bet its some sort of mold/fungus. Its looks radically different under the scope. There is a huge variety of fungi that will make themselves at home given the right conditions. I recently came across some stuff that looked amazing, covered in what looked like trichomes. Except when you break it up, and look extremely carefully with the right light angle, you can observe what looks like webbing. Turned out it was some really cool looking fungi/mold. An unexperienced person would look at it and think "wow look at all those gooey crystals melting and streching", but its some fungi webbing.
 
To be honest the bud looks fine. I feel like there is some OCD/Paranoia going on here more that anything. Don't wash the bud in anything just smoke it or give it away, what country are you in that you are so concerned about this? I have heard all sorts of myths and having it laced/weighted but its just that - myths or the ghetto.

Are you saying that when you break the nug and you don't see trichromes?
