is this enough light

iv built agrow box 2 foot by 2 foot by 18 inches deep.walls are lind with reflective insulation.i have four 26 watt cfl,s it says on the box they put out 1750 lumens per bulb.so four bulbs would be 7000 lumens.just wondering if this would be enough light for 2 to 4 plants.not looking for any huge yields as these would only be for personal use and friends.also want to keep it cheap and simple.any response would be a great help.

You will be needing much more than that for 2-4 plants. 4 x 1750 is 7000. Weed likes to be drowned in light. You would be better off using the CFL's as side lighting and getting a 250w hps ($120-150 new) if money is an issue. The guy at my hydro store is selling a used 400W MH with a new bulb for $100. You won't get much at all from 104w of fluro. It will be good for veg but useless for flowering and for the money you would be spending on CFL's you would get more light for less from a HID. If you are planning on growing for yourself and friends you will be needing at least a 400W HID($150- $220). I was using 2 x 400w HPS's on three plants to get a lb. You might get a ¼oz of popcorn if you're lucky from 100w CFL.

that is enuff light for 2 plants to reach flowering but it might be a slow grow .. and when they hit flowering there going to need atleast twice that and half of the light has to be 2700k red/orange spectrum
