Is this bud rot?

Thats what it looks like yes. If its only on one spot you can cut that specific part out or that bud and let the rest finish. More bud rot will most likely come though in the future now that your plant is obviously prone and the spores are everywhere. Not definite youll get more but its more likely.

Thank you for you advice, think Ill take the whole bud, limit any further infections?
Fix the environment to prevent it spreading. The fungus spores are already through the whole tent like they are in every grow. They start growing when the temp and humidity allow it. Plenty of airflow around the plants and 65 or below rh will stop bud rot.

Unfortunately it's an outside grow, close to river in mountains very humid... Not something I can do to much about... Should be finished in about 2 weeks, so Ill just take the bus me thinks?

Yes just take the bud. If the bud is at the top of a branch then put some tape over the stem where you cut it.

Good luck mate. Keep a very close eye on them and keep checking inside the buds. Usually once you see one patch of rot it's already spread through most of your big tops. If you see signs in other buds it might be time to pull. Better to have an early harvest than wait and find out you have nothing.

Thanks mate, i chopped the offending bud, which was one of the bottom buds, so hopefully the spores haven't made it up to the tops yet?. This girl (Orion f1) along with another (gelato cookie) had a ruff start from when she went outside... They got savaged by slugs or snails, I'm using egg shells plenty now which seems to be keeping them at bay... just! As there is still evidence they are about... so the Orion is not going to hit anywhere near the average yeild... which is a shame as she smell amazing and so resinous...

P.S it seems the late night munchers do not eat the resinous parts of the plant, only fresh young shoots! Please confirm if this is true ? Thanks in advance?

I grow outdoors in a humid and warm area and I spray Zerotol in those situations, in addition to removing damaged parts. Zerotol can be sprayed right up to harvest, leaves no residue, and helps limit further spread of damage in areas you have damage. In my experience. Zerotol has been a game changer for my outdoor grows!

Thank you once again, but I am not sure I would use this all the way up to harvest ? I"if" I use it, I will stop 1 week before harvest.

I understand being cautious. I've been using it for years, even washed freshly harvested bud in it to make sure there was no mold. It is essentially super charged hydrogen peroxide, which just breaks down to oxygen and water. I learned about it from some commercial outdoor growers from Colorado. Used as directed, I have never burned a plant , and it is by far the best way to fight powdery mildew I have ever seen!

More times than not bud rot on my outdoor plants is caused by bud worms. Inspect closely.
In thinking back to when they were savaged by slugs, maybe I didn't clean well enough the dead shoots that were destroyed with the midnight feast they had? Would old dead leaves be the catalyst for bud rot?? Both plants took about 10 days to recover from the "attack"so are now stunted but looking really good, ai will be happy to get what I can from them as I expected nothing, but they pulled through... I will definitely keep a keen eye out for worms, I'm thinking maybe 2 more weeks max? Depends on humidity etc... But next sign if rot, I will prob just chop?

How often do you apply and do you mist the actual buds? or just infected area? I've been spraying the surrounding area too... so the ground, all surrounding plants etc
