Is this a male?

This really is into 3 weels of veg from a seed. Is there anyway to tell sex right now?

Not yet my friend. A few more weeks and look for pre-flowers. They show maturity, ready to flip 12/12. . Looking good though.

Yeah man, looks good. I am only new to this but i have found that after about a week of flowering the plant will reveal its gender. Until then all mine have looked the same.

But can you see that little nub thing in there. None of my others ones have that?

In that pic that could be a TINY male preflower. Look at the branch growing off the node at the top right of the picture, if you follow the green vein in the center of the branch down in a line and look at the base it looks like a tiny male preflower. Check it out with a magnifying glass and Google "cannabis male preflower" and it'll give you a better idea, I think it is tho.

EDIT: Is it your only plant? Generally males grow a bit faster than females too, did it grow faster than the rest?

Ya kinda then the other ones shot up.... this one next to it was the small one at the start.

Any thoughts on this one?

Im only 3 weeks into vegging I just noticed this, and didnt know what to think. Im not trying to flower yet.

i almost killed a plant that looks just like that... I'm thinking it might be female, but wait till you see hairs or sumthin. If you see balls growinon the branch its over lol

if this plant is a normal strain dont worry it is not a preflower you will only notice this when you change too a 12/12 and it take a few weeks at that before it will start too preflower if you are only 3 weeks into veg dont wry just keep going and when you change too a 12/12 and they start to preflower trust me when i tell you that you will spot the difference between the male and female plants how many are you growing ? ( this is a normal strain and not a auto ?)

I got the seeds out of a bag from the dispensary it was the top shelf marijuana, I payed like 120 for a 1/4.
I couldn't believe it really there was 4 I am only growing 3 right now. And a widow.

It is a preflower but give it a few days and it will be obvious.
It is hard to tell because the pic isn't very great but it looks female but I have never had a female preflower at 3weeks only male.
Female preflowers tend to be higher on the node and grow up in my experience and males appear a little lower and grow wide before growing out and sprouting bananas.
But like I said give it a few days and it will show.

Too early to tell. And Bong you are wrong. MJ plants will show their sex in veg once sexually mature. Thats 'pre-flowers'. When you flip to 12/12 it does not 'preflower' it is actually flowering.......

So would this be a good candidate for a mother plant?

ye i am completely wrong about the preflower thing dont read that lol but still 3 weeks is abit early for it ;P

3 weeks is early but not unheard of. Also something to consider with preflowers. Even a plant that will end up being female just may pop a male flower or two at the onset of maturity/flowering. If you really watch your plants close at the beginning of flower it occurs more than you would think....they really do not mature enough to create pollen, just a single nut here or there.....

A female preflower is obvious tho, they have pistils the same as a flowering female plant.

Definitely wait a while but keep an eye on it. What I thought was a male showing, turned out to actually be a leaf growing.
