but this is all part of being in the first wave of that new breed of politician. thumbing one's nose at tradition, failure to respect long time friends and allies and an unswerving disdain for the lessons of the past are all necessary to usher in a new age of american politics. simple dignity is seen as an affectation of those elitists of old, the new elitists prefer boorish behavior and pedestrian mannerisms. this is giving the common touch to affairs of state and showing the world that even such intellectuals as our president and first lady are not out of touch with the proletariat. every day shows us a bit more that this first couple belongs at wal-mart even more than the last.

Obama couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. He's been handed victory in Iraq, and that is going to be in question soon.

Iran is even more serious. Obama's stated goal is now to get Iran to ENGAGE in negotiations.

This is an incredibly low bar to set. The goal is to get them "just" to talk. No goal about stopping them from becoming an unstable nuclear regime... no. The goal is to get them to simply talk.

So far....FAIL!! (uhh, duh).

Obama's breach of protocol is of a piece with the substance of his foreign policy. He means to teach Americans to bow before monarchs and tyrants. He embodies the ideological multiculturalism that sets the United States on the same plane as other regimes based on tribal privilege and royal bloodlines. He gives expressive form to the idea that the United States now willingly prostrates itself before the rest of the world. He declares that the United States is a country like any other, only worse, because we have so much for which to apologize.

Pictures explain a thousand words. And, it's still against introductory protocal. Subjects bow including those that govern territories held by the soveringe during the introduction - Not Heads of State.

It's been one embarrassment after another with this guy.

I think he does display weakness but we need to understand something. In Obama's mind it is NOT his personal weakness on display. He is representing a country that he holds in contempt and so by squatting to pee in front of foreign leaders, he is really saying "look how I have reduced America and how she now grovels before you."
