That looks like the stretch is over, just let it finish out you will get a nice big top bud off her.
Ok have a question. My ripleys is yellowing only fans rest of the plant looks great. Should i feed more nitrogen? I upped its dose from a 1/4 to half strength but no change.
Start a thread about your plant and ask people. That's what I did anyway..
Sorry just knew you had some yellowing. Figured it would be better to hear from you.
It's normal after stretch. N depletion.
Yeah i just remembered you said you were giving more nitrogen to stop it. Did it help yours?
Ripleys OG 21 days into 12/12. Stretch is over now it's time to fatten her up..
Some yellowing is normal after stretch so I give grow nutes right until stretch is over.
You're not too sure how electronics work are you?
Cree is a brand...
If you read the fine print they market as 1500 watts equivalent. Generally they "rate" them that value by taking a reading of lumens or lux at a certain distance from the lamp and the number of "watts" they give you as a value is what it would take in incandescent lamps to make the same amount of foot candle as the led. Notice that CFL do this as well. I'm a lighting designer by trade and etcp entertainment electrician certified. They've been doing this as industry standard for many many years.
No shit. But not all cree are the same. That's the point. I have a flashlight with a cree cob. Doesn't mean its good for growing.
I have a degree in electronics and worked industrial maint for years.
The numbers they put in those cheap lights are hogwash. I doubt the equivalent to incandescent is accurate on some. Even if its right it doesn't mean anything. Its just a measure for the human eyes and they need to stop. Its one thing to do with a cfl or other general lighting bulbs but not grow lights. They need to list actual draw or actual grow equivalent. You know damn well, if you are a lighting designer, that a cheap ass blurple light listed as a 1500 that draws less than half that will not replace 1500 watts of hid. Dint sit here and defend the marketing bullshit these cheap companies pull.
Hey buddy preaching to the choir here. Not taking a side on whether their marketing wank is justified. Just shedding some light on the thin air from which they yank those numbers. Well dark tunnel more likely... As far as the not all cree are the same you're absolutely 100% correct. One must look at the individual part numbers specs for appropriate color temps, cri etc. Then you have to look into how they're binned. Although arguably that's less important unless your concerned with parts longevity and the likelihood of their being tiny little diodes out on a cob led.
That looks great, those yellowing leaves are not a problem, just pull them off, usually thats done by the plant to move mobile nutrients from places in the plant that will no longer use it to places where it needs it such as buds. It also should help clear some air ways as well. Happy growing.
Thanks! This is my 6th grow so I'm still learning, but each one seems to be better than the last.
Ripleys OG Photoperiod 5 weeks in 12/12. BUDS are packing on some weight. She stinks like onions too. Can't wait to finish this one. I'm guestimating 4 more weeks but I really don't know for sure. The hairs are starting to turn reddish and she has a ton of crystals.
6 weeks in 12/12. Buds are swelling and a few amber trichs are appearing. About 60% red/brown pistils. Very strong odor. I'm still giving her GoBox nutes at full recommended dose.
Ripleys OG Photo 7 weeks in 12/12. About 5% amber trichs and an odor that can only be described as like rotten meat. Nugs are rock solid due to the Vero COBs.
One more week and she gets chopped.
She got the chop this morning at 9 weeks from 12/12. The smell is very noticeable so I had to break out a new carbon filter. Very strong peppery skunk smell. I was using a drying rack but it was drying everything out too fast, I figured doing it this way it would slow things down a bit. Temps and RH are mid 60's
