Is it worth investing in LED?

I actually thought his first few posts, on page one, were tame, subtle, and informing.
Well fuck me... idiocracy has not infected everyone just yet. I'll take that as my cue to get out of here, 1 person seeing that simple fact is probably more than I expected I already. The rest can continue to talk shit and pretend I came here to troll...

@rollitup @sunni y'all need some mods in the LED section. I'm sure there would be plenty of people that would volunteer.
In few years when everyone is growing LED there won't be the need for a separate section nor your group trolling and nutjob sect members

Add "punk bitch" to the list of names you've called people.... Again, something you'd never call me to my face in real life.
Does making such keyboard warrior statements reduce your butthurt or actually boost your ego? As if you'd have the fucking nerve to even talk to me...

I nominate @SupraSPL as mod for this section. Besides being the most helpful member here, he's also probably the most patient. Great mod material.
Lol...i nominate gg. We need a heavy hand in here...:finger:

Add "butthurt" to the list of names you've called me... I am in a good mood, you can't ruin my day. I have a great job, I have nice things and I am happy in life, you can't take that from me, but obviously I have taken what little joy you have in your life, because happy, content people do not call others names.

Any other names you want to call me? Maybe I'm a "fucktard" too? Or a "dick moth", oooh, that's a good one. Anything else?

Not surprising you don't have a great memory pretengineer. Though that does seem to be part of your desperate attempts to prove me wrong after your initial metldown. There's clearly something wrong with you mentally, such delusional accusations and petty slander attempts are clearly beyond butthurt. And you ask me how old I am... "you started"... lol

That "stubborn old man" is a better grower and better man than you will ever be.
Hell no he isn't. That stubborn old man flowers with t5s, uses actinics (way too much blue), and has shit for yields in comparison as as result. Then, to top it off, he overfeeds sulfur, and actually thinks boiling the roots does something helpful. He thinks "cutting off oxygen" will help the plant "ferment", as if it's hops and you want fermentation. He thinks foxtailing is a good thing, and that triches turning amber early is like striking gold.

News flash old man... HPS was invented. If he was just going about his business, it would be one thing... but to be considered a resident expert? yeah right..

I'm done buying, but this was for a 2x2, one #10 airpot

I really like my clw220, kind of expensive, $439 plus free shipping. It is super high quality and the plants love it, But I still can't tell just by observing what watt hid it would be comparable to. I would say 400w is pushing it a little, but I use to clone under a 250w mh and it beats the hell out of that.
2x2 sounds about right for that light and I don't think it's equal to a 400 hps. There are much better lights out there. Area 51 is coming out with a COB based light using Vero 2's in June that watt for watt will be way better at a lower per watt price.

Hey OP, I dug up an example picture of bud that was harvested from a tent the size of the one you mentioned, using 2 Area-51 RW-75s. The plant yielded 3 ounces off a 1 month veg and I could have fit a second in the tent with it. I'm happy with the results these lights give me and I feel they're cheaper than HPS in the long run.

I'm happy with that level of density off a sativa and with proper canopy management you won't have to worry about fluffy nugs.

I think you're doing a great job growing in that tent with ~240W, Churchy. I like how you took the picture, it's unique.

Edit: I just utilized the zoom ability for your picture and the buds actually look bigger than I had initially seen, and the leaves are still green so those buds should be even bigger before too long!
Actually, I just realized the picture I posted was 8 days before harvesting. Good point. I was trying to post mature pictures.

Here's before harvest.
(flash used to make it easy to see bud density)

This for the whole canopy.

Are those sativas? Nice. I'm doing some too. Golden Tigers and shit.
Yeah, they grow like sativas, but finish fast for a sativa. It stretches a LOT for 3 weeks, then starts putting on weight and maturing fast. The stretch is good though (if you can handle it). During that time, a ton of new productive veg growth is put out. The plant on the right had some issues from neglect when in veg (i topped off the res in veg with plain water for weeks out of laziness), which the ones on the left and middle seemed to have forgotten about.

I think differently than most here. Mostly because I am not in their shoes and they are not in mine.
LED's are worth it for commercial producers and very small growers. In between...I think is not so worth it cost wise. For the small guys it allows things never to be done by any other light in such a space...it's like taking little chunks of a 1000 hps and putting it in a small closet or wardrobe.

Being a real producer is the only way to quickly justify the start up cost. If you are a producer...you can afford to spend more on lights. Doesn't mean some want to...but they could if they were already on a successful path in growing. All that cost is paid back after harvest 1(actually about 1/2 the harvest really). And everything after that is in pocket gains from higher potency, less lighting, and less cooling.
Many will come here and say that led's can't produce at an hps level. 98% of them can not. But the 2% that are...ARE. And that is what matters.

I don't think that led's are for beginners. They are not cheap, nor are they magic. But they are the best available source of light for plant growth right now if you know where to look. A very hard thing to know where to look...but they are in the world at this very moment, I promise.

@SomeGuy The feeling is mutual. Anytime you are in the sonoma county area, bowls on me! Same for @Eraserhead and a few others(if you have to ask...it ain't you).
One day we will all be able to sit down in public and sesh all we want.

@Positivity ...you had me rolling. Iron fist!

I've yet to visit Cali, it's on my list. If you ever get lost in WV, shoot me an email, we'll smoke up.

They put a lot into the appearance of the web site. I still prefer the simplicity and easy-navigation of Area51's webiste. My ADD kicked into overtime after entering GB's website.

I have a stealth grow. 40x46 inches. I used various 3w led Chinese lamps. Worked well. Now I use 9 vero29's in the area. Another 4 or 5 weeks and I should have around 10oz when dry. Soil grow. I'm thrilled. I couldn't easily and quietly use an hid. I would have to cool. And much smaller thermal image.
