is it ok to prune seedlings??

It was a good sturdy seedling in 100 coco. I cut way to early! Dumb mistake.. as im still learning. I cut away lower fan leaves at 2 nodes, it has sence recovered and is at 4 nodes, but when i saw the tap root come out of second pot the 3 litre. It was just out? And went bk up? Days had past still no sign of roots. I then noticed when it was about time to move up a pot it has poor root development. The roots never developed as they should have had in the 3 litre pot. Its under a 250cl temp were 24/25°c rh 50/60 ive senced dropped temps to 23 an rh to 30 its wilting and leaves are cupping down its now in a 15 litre pot any help would be great il send pics soon. The wilting is going on past 2 weeks.watering 2 to 3 times a week. Ive done a flush 2 days ago. Im letting it dry out..

Exactly bro. Got a prime example of that goin on now.. have some seedlings 9 different strains 4 of which are growing super fast working on their 2nd node and the other 5 are still even with their cotyledon.. all same age..
I like to have 5-6 nodes before topping. Simply telling us the age doesnt necessarily mean it's ready to be topped.

There's no reason to be pruning seedlings, lower leaves need light to manufacture sugars in the plant and take up water and nutrients from the root system through evapotranspiration. They also help cool the plant and these are all necessary functions for growth which one wouldn't want to inhibit.

A great time to top is shortly before flipping to flower when da girls are atleast one foot tall, that way you have a better idea of what the branch structure looks like. The only reason one would want to remove lower leaves is if airflow nerds to be increased due to excessive crowding (fungu/mold potential) or if they are dead.

Cool.. I never had to much luck with the coco myself. Stuff dried out to quick on me cause I'd have to stay gone.. now if you had a system to water um aft certain times that work out good.. boy I'd watch the super thrive.. that stuff is super strong bro, a dab will do ya. I use it also, I just add a drop maybe two to a gallon along g with my veg nutes max. (: good luck though. Keep me posted.

I usually top around the 5th or 6xh node, then I transplant sinking that bitch all the way up to her bottom leaves. I then start working the branches/training/lst, aiming towards making my manifold. After all that I let her veg for a month or so, just to get um nice and bushy so I can take me a handful of cuttings, I then let her go a few more weeks then flower. (: talk about some monsters. I just started back at it all had to take a break due to a death in the fam. Got to missing it all something awful and had to get back into it. I started 9 different strains and plan on starting more. Hell if anyone gets bored and wants to shoot the shit, or just wants to stop by to check um out stop on by the thread.
