Is it nute burn or deficiency?

Not sure what it is, because I bumped the vegging nutes from 1/4 up to 2/4 and I don't want to believe it is too much...

These little dots are appearing only on the fan leaves and only 2 plants are being affected.

The middle one in front has most of the dots. The color is also a bit on the bright side. Not very dark green.

Nutes were upped to 2/4 about a week ago.

They're sitting in soil and perlite 50/50 mix + some chicken manure and seaweed.

That first picture looks like bugs man... I'm only on my first grow though hopefully someone else chimes in soon. Never seen a deficiency like that.. And it doesn't look like nute burn to me..

I did not detect any mites. The underside of leaves seem to be fine.

But now Im worried if you said mites.

It looks like some sort of deficiency but I'm not an expert so cannot pick out what the solution for your problem is.

Maybe simply too small amount of nutes.. but then it would be weird to get symptoms of deficiency after upping the amount of nutes given.

Anyway, better than bugs I guess.

I too was thinking bugs but the pattern is too uniform and the tips are burnt.. ya, nute burn. back off the TDS a little and sometimes the pre-mixes can run a little hot on the ph. might want to try backing the pH to 6.5 or so and try to reduce some heat. Cooler temps will slow the growth down just a tad until you can understand the problem.

{edit} looking over a little more, you said you don't want to believe it but it's happening. :) nute burn, very slight.

the chicken manure + soil + seaweed + 2/4 nutes, has got ya burnt a little. You should be able to use 1/4 again and adjust the pH to 6.5 or so. Also, are you using SuperThrive or B1?

ps, the soil + chicken manure + seaweed should be enough nutes as it is. No need for anything else but filtered water, until late stages. (Stay away from TAP water) Remember not to over-water them and you might want some white on those walls, white paint is great, I've used a white bed sheet or white tarp before.

plants look great! :weed:

I had it on my plants and couldn't be asked to get it checked or even research about it and those leaves stayed the same and started turning brown from the sides (the leaves were crispy from where they were brown- just to let you know)

I would carefully put a small bag over the leaves with the problem and remove them

then buy some spray from the shop that kill thrips and spider mites to be on the safe side and give the plants a good soak (I am sure that's thrips or spidermite that caused that)

No, im not using Superthrive, neither B1.

I have been using distilled water with a PH of 5.8 and I have to wait for few more days to get my diamond mylar.

I hope you are right about the nute burn.

Are you SURE?

Only three plants seem to be affected and every plant has only ONE pair of fan leaves that has them. Not even single other leaf besides that pair of fan leaves has them.

Is it common for mites to be targeting the leaves like that?

Thank you for your input, stickybuds. I appreciate it.

However, I spent a long time inspecting the undersides of the leaves and they doesn't appear to be affected by anything. No mites, no dots... nothing.

I will keep researching and I'll keep my eye on my plants and look for any happening within next few days.
