Is Girl Scout Cookies a strain to keep?

The 2 rows in front are all GSC. Vibrant growth. I just hope the high and smoke quality is as impressive. 3rd row is Moonshine Haze #1 x Ghost Train haze #1. 4th row is Black widow. Final row is Jager and Critical Mass. I might yank half the BW's and replace them with Maui Waui. The BW I just harvested is very potent, but a lot is left to be desired in the flavor department. I'll flower a single plant 1 more time. If it fails to meet my standards on the next flower cycle she's gone. MW is what I like to call an "all around performer." She's got bag appeal. She's got an amazing flavor and aroma. And the high is perfect. Not too much. Not too little. Just right. The yields are very impressive. Fantastic commercial strain.

You just have to smoke them all to find out but you can never go wrong with Girl Scout or any of the 1000 crosses with it

I've harvested probably 50 Girl Scout Cookie (autos from Fast Buds)

I've liked it since the beginning so always keep a few in the rotation. I've never tried any GSC from other breeders, but this one has always been a 65-75 day finisher w/ a potent smell.

Here's the GSC i got right now.

It has an amazing bag appeal but the yield isn’t spectacular. It’s a lanky strain with dense little clusters of buds.

I almost prefer animal cookies (GSC x Fire OG) over GSC. Tends to improve the yield and structure a bit and add a complimentary flavor profile.

With you 100% i prefer the animal cookies over most of the other ones id say its the better smoke

First and foremost compliments on growing some gorgeous flowers there. Dense and frosty colas while your foliage is still lush and beautiful. That is nice work you did there. Forgive my ignorance, but what is the benefit of running "auto's?" Do they produce more flower? Or just a faster harvest turn around time versus a photo period plant? Is it more productive to run auto's versus photo period plants?

Appreciate the kind words my friend.

As far as your question, NO they do not produce more flower than photoperiod (regular) seeds. You can, however, yield some pretty impressive amounts with aggressive LST techniques. Some of the auto strains now can be FED HEAVY and with some said training can get to be some monsters!

I started running auto's just for the simple fact they are a bit smaller and easier to manage. I only grow for personal use, so i'm not looking for giant trees. I enjoy growing as a hobby and like to grow year round. I don't think there is any real benefit other than they finish quicker.

Although, THC% is hitting mid 20's now with some autos. That's just crazy

I'm sure hoping they don't leave me with the same disappointment HSO did. I was so shitty about that HSO order I would never order anything from them again. Fuckers :)

Absolutely love this strain and so does anyone in my circle who try it.
I’ve been on a bit of a hunt for a good batch from seed as this strain is clone s1 only to get true genetics. However my fast buds was an amazing producer of incredible smoke and gave 5 ounces per plant.
I’m growing a cross from joti of his blackberry cush x will Cali connection’s GSC. it’s almost done.
Next will be Canuk cookies. I’m a bit addicted to the cookie!

The breeder is "Garden of Eden", and I ordered them through Seedsman. Great service. Of the 7 strains in my flower room girl scout cookies stands out the most. It looks like a bunch of cat tails popping up through the canopy and the flower sites fill the entire branch top to bottom. Of course I cleaned up the lower growth that had no chance of reaching the canopy, but the growth of the plant is vivacious and the flower sites are everywhere. I've done 2 leaf strips on it because it was so thick. In veg you can usually get a feel for whether or not a plant is of good genetics or not by it's growth pattern, branch strength, aroma, and rate of growth. Because I could see GSC stood out from all the other strains in veg I did 10 clones of her for the next cycle. I really only have room for about 16 plants in the flower room, so most of my next cycle will be GSC. I'm pretty excited to see how the flower turns out in 8 weeks. You guys have some serious frost on the pics you're posting. Has me pretty stoked :)

Any update on your gsc progress?

I have a cross in mid flower right now and I'm trying to decide if I'll have to harvest in two stages to get the most out of her.

She's going to take every bit of 11 weeks. I'll post a pic tomorrow. I'm flowering out the next batch I have in veg and I'm done with GSC. Compared to every other strain in the garden she's going to be a poor producer and requires heavy maintenance. Great looking flowers. Just not heavy and generally a waste of time. There are better strains to run. I see nothing special in GSC.

She grew fantastic in veg and I really had high hopes, but ultimately she disappointed. Who knows? The smoke could be amazing, but from a yield standpoint I couldn't afford to run GSC again. I've got a ghost train haze #1 x moonshine haze #1 from rare dankness that was expected to be the lowest yielding plant and she's surprising the hell out of me. Kinda grows like gg#4. Long stems with hard dense golf balls at the top. Except ghost train is filling out like a long cola instead of just a golf ball like I was use to seeing on the glue. My most prized strains on hand at the moment are black widow, critical mass, jager, and maui waui. All very heavy producers. Great strains for balancing the books. Black widow and maui have aromas that will stop you in your tracks. Jager is the heaviest producer I've ever grown. Critical mass takes #2 for heaviest.

With seeds you never fully know what you're gonna get unless it's a landrace strain.

I've grown a Sunset Sherbert a bunch of times and that was a fat and quick yielding plant. One of it's parents is GSC. That's the side that makes her more susceptible to throwing nanners. The other parent of Sunset is Pink Panties, but I don't know much about that one.

Everything is for personal use but I like having enough so that I can just gift away. I too, am not sure this will be worth it but I hope harvesting in two stages will help.

I'm still learning and this was my first try at a scrog. I know I can improve with canopy management and truly scrog more branches
