Hey seamaiden, I think you were right way back when. You said Flotsom had a "look" well that plant is looking leafy and lush, I'm thinking it's a female, but I haven't put it in 12/12 yet. It's looking so full I want it to have more time before I force it. I'll try to get some new pics up today.

Sadie is in 12/12 now, I'm hoping for female, but I'm getting this negative male vibe from it. A few more days and I should know for sure.

I'm not real sure, I think it's a matter of opinion. I'm at least waiting until I know they are girls for sure.

Lucinda was at about 2 1/2 of 12/12 when I started with her.

I did, make sure you give it time to sit and dissolve before you use it. Molasses is thick and it went straight to the bottom. After sitting all night it seemed more mixed.

I read this earlier on a thread in the newbie section, it was from cannabitch just so no one thinks i'm taking credit...i just wanted to show you guys cause they say the blackstrap is the worst to use.

Understanding Molasses

Do you know the difference between types of molasses? We often hear the term "blackstrap molasses," but what does that mean?

The quality of molasses depends on the maturity of the sugar cane, the amount of sugar extracted, and the method of extraction. There are three major types of molasses: unsulphured, sulphured and blackstrap.

Unsulphured molasses is the finest quality. It is made from the juice of sun-ripened cane and the juice is clarified and concentrated.

Sulphured molasses is made from green sugar cane that has not matured long enough and treated with sulphur fumes during the sugar extracting process. Molasses from the first boiling is the finest grade because only a small amount of sugar has been removed. The second boil molasses takes on a darker color, is less sweet and has a more pronounced flavor.

Blackstrap molasses is from the third boil and only has a commercial value in the manufacture of cattle feed and other industrial uses.

I'm using unsulphered molasses.

That's weird about the molasses, the grocery store where I live sells "blackstrap" molasses in the pancake syrup aisle.
