and cobby always includes hardware, screws/nuts/eye bolts. its great.
just remember that he does have the pre built engines. and you can always use it as a blueprint to piece together your own. and its always nice to have everything you need in one easy spot. as shipping adds up fast across multiple other distributors due to the semi heavy nature of most of these parts.
but imho its totally worth it. even and cool light, customize-able, efficient, what you spend on hid bulbs every six months you could buy one or even two single engines, 4 to 8 1212's, 1 or 2 1825's and if you use the iceled heatsinks, you get a duo top canopy fan (which are amazing) what you are spending on expensive hoods, lots of ventilation, bulbs, electricity, and in some cases co2 supplementation, typically destroys the the upfront cost of building, in comparison.
when you buy a prebuilt fixture expect to spend 2$ per wall watt for good quality.
when you build, expect to pay .50c per wall watt for exceptional quality.

I chose to go with bridgelux because i did a lot of research and everything said they run better at higher wattages than cree or citizen. Especially for the price. I know very little about luminous. What model of luminous cobs and where can I find a data sheet? Im not much good at building things which is why I am looking for a full kit.

i guess it depends what you consider higher wattages. large LES cobs like vero Cs, citi 1825, luminus cxm32 do better above 80W or so, relative to small LES cobs like the 22mm citi 1212, 1818, and luminus cxm22. last time i tested the vero Cs were identical to the citi 1825 gen5 at all wattages. So its not really accurate to say they run "better than citizen at higher wattage" because citi makes chips in a variety of sizes, some that are below and some that are above the vero B/C/D at all wattages

the luminus CXM22 is my go to as most people run 40-80W/cob for better efficiency so no reason to pay more if you'll never run the chips at higher wattages. in that range ts as good as any chip you can buy and its substantially cheaper

Veros are good chips though you should be happy with your purchase

Im gonna email cobkits and see what I can get. I'm looking for the best coverage I can in a 6 x 6 flowering tent. Ive looked at the cxm 22 and like the looks of them.

iv been doing rounds with various builds, and am quite pleased all around. between colors i saw almost no difference in bud structure and quality vs the 2700k vs the 3000k, vegitative growth was great under 3500k but REALLY SLOW under a mix of 3000 & 4000k
as far as price point expect to pay a third of what those commercial manufacturers charge. so that panel would be about 300$ to build
iv recently finished a new build for a 5x5 but could easily beef out a 4x8 ( i think im going to go 3x15). with 20 citizen 1212s and 2 hlg 304s for an adjustable pannel between 400w- 1000w and love it. it was around 600$ start to finish

I ran lenses and after 2 grows removed them. Are you growing in an open room or a tent? in a tent they are a waste of time and my grow improved a fair amount after removing them. In a reflective environment they are simply not needed. In an open room however, they make up for the lack of diffuse and reflected light.

Good luck finding glass lenses. Light losses with the silicone lenses are about the same as glass btw. The only place I've seen lenses is Rapid LED and they are 105 degree silicone. Not sure what beam angle my glass lenses are, seems to me 105 and 90 are the most common.

Yeah Pop22, I just found a very informational thread on lenses. Guess im just going to go angelina route,

Just wanted more par on the leafs. I get 800 PAR at 12 inches, but i dont like them that close to the leafs. but i also want more par.

So its either give these a go, or upgrade Driver to c2100B from c1400, $90 difference.

Im in a 3x3, white reflection walls, ( closet ) I want to have my light 18 inches at least.

OMG, glad your heal'd but sure your not back to where you were before hand, SMH, dang. i just ended up getting the reflectors, should be good enough. take care man,

Consider 90 degree reflectors, they work as well as lenses and don't build added heat in the cobs

yeah man, i scooped up the lil angelinas, i already have the bjb holders, so i'll be good to go. I was thinking of even putting my perfect sun mini back in to for side lighting.
