Autos are their own world, with their own strengths and weaknesses. Life is full of compromises and nothing is perfect. For lots of people what we gain with autos outweighs what we lose. I grow 100% autos, indoors and out, because in both situations currently photos are not an option for me. If that changed, I would go back to photos in a heartbeat. But as things stand, I am glad that autos exist and that companies like Mephisto are putting out top quality auto genetics.

So keep your expectations in check, and know that most people who are 'hyping' Mephisto are comparing them to other autos, not to photos. The buds can be resinous and sticky and potent, but they also are what they are and have their limitations. That's my experience, others might have different ones.

Yep. Mephisto is the best at whatever a greasy auto bud can be. They’re not the best at yield. They can grow huge, often grow smaller than most. Atleast in my experience. But. They’re the best autos I ever grew.
Don’t grow autos anymore tho.

That's great. Been looking at that bank, they carry a LOT of breeders, which is good.
Had a similar experience from northatlantic, good bank.
I'm in no real rush to get them, just surprised to see it's taken this long to process. Not talking about getting them shipped out. I understand things are slow right now

I think that bank is the one that asks customers to take photos of their ID during payment. I'll stick to Hembra and DCSE.

One of the freebies this week is supposed to be mango smile x skywalker, I really hope I end up with a couple.

I tried to go to TreeStars seed bank for their drop because they had the last of the Fugue State (7 packs @$85), but they don't take CC and I'm not doing cash/cashier's checks anymore, and I don't have Bitcoin. Don't really need them, just wanted them, so that saved me some money.

I've been wanting that Fugue State and seeing they only had 3 packs left, decided to scoop 1 up. Damn, wasn't even planning on buying any more seeds right now

I've never run it either, just love everything about the description and lineage.

There are a few of their strains I'd like to try that I haven't yet -- Fugue State, SODK, Ripley's OG, and a few I've grown and would love to grow again -- Walter White, Cosmic Queen, and Chemdogging. I lean towards 50/50 to Sativa dom, with a few Indica doms mixed in. Looks like I should be able to get some Ripley's sooner or later.

I'm not aware of any Meph reps that visit RIU, making wish lists here probably has all the impact of a mouse fart.

Stan won't come here cause it's pretty open here as long as it doesn't get too crazy. They can give free seeds thlo the Mods at AFN and the guy on Reddit and have any criticism taken down in a heartbeat. Any shade that they don't like and you get cautioned for a suspension. I've never seen that kind of censorship here though i don't frequent the advertising section much either. Shit, the general Mephisto section was locked months ago. Now a person can submit a question and only Stan can answer each post XD now there is hardly anyone there. Mephisto ditched the growers at AFN that helped put them on the map for new Redditers that have no clue and think it's great cause they get a few orders in right now.

I should be all set for a long while after getting the recent orders. When you get their stuff from a 3rd party, do they give you extra of the same strain like mephisto does?
I'm glad you posted about the Fugue @Humanrob thank you for that. Unplanned, but better off with :joint:

Nope. Just the seed count as advertised. People want their cake and to eat it too. A 7 pack for 70$ and some that are 90$ are well worth it. Not every breeder would be but these guys are. Everyone wants the cheap seeds directly from Mephisto and the freebies, but you just need to come to terms that those days are gone. For a new grower i can see the thinking that you'll be that guy that gets an order in on the monday openings(yesterday they were sold out in 2 minutes. 2. Two. To. Too. II, and any other way to spell it out), but 8 of every 10 people will not. For example i paid 70$ for 7 pack of Ripley's OG and I'd do it 10/10 cause i know what I'm getring when i grow them.

Yeah, the rush to buy on Mondays is wild, I logged in 5 minutes before 10 MST and it let me buy a pack; I know the restock packs were apparently gone by 10:02 and the beginner packs a couple minutes later, and they closed the store at 10:10. I can understand the frustration with the whole setup and deciding to just pay a small premium to avoid it.

That being said, it worked out well for me because I don't need these autoflower seeds right away; I have photos I'm already running. Not to mention some of the freebie strains are desirable in their own right— I'm really interested in the two Skywalker crosses in the pool this week: Skywalker x Mango Smile & Creme De La Chem x Skywalker (the other two are Samsquanch x Forum Stomper & Strawberry Nuggets x Mango Smile apparently)

For sure some of the freebies are nice, but nothing the buyer can't do themselves. Freebies are all S/F1s. All you nees to do is self one and use the pollen to seed the other. This is part of what i don't get. People like Mephisto because they BREED their genetics to further generations for stability and they bitch about not getting these 1 off crosses from ordering from the seedbanks.

As a business they have a right and obligation to chose their own business model. They aren't equipped to sell direct anymore, so they are moving towards selling through distributors. This is a common move for a growing business. Trust me...I know this first hand. Mephisto became huge with everyone raving about the "autoflower revolution" and everyone wanted in. Their infrastructure seemingly couldn't cope with the volume without crashing. I used to buy direct but now I go to Supreme Seeds for Mephisto. I get my seeds a lot faster that way. This is a smart move for Mephisto. They already had the best auto seeds in the world but it turns out they are business savvy too. The press releases on Reddit are impressive, the branding, grow guides, strain guides...all the literature is pro-level and very slick. I was worried that they were done but it looks like they were re-tooling instead.

They have a right to do whatever they want. This is America, and for the time being, a market driven economy. I have a right to express my opinion when I am being abused by a process that is designed to drive over demand and piss potential customers. That’s all, relax dude, take a pill....

Yeah, people could breed F1s but they'd have to own both parents and have the space/grow hygiene to harvest pollen without contaminating their future grows. I'll be growing photos concurrently so I'm not about to generate any auto pollen; the risk/reward proposition isn't that good.

I'm not sure why you're so offended by McStrats, as all he did was expand his opinion with mine. No doubt that they sold out. They were a little guy customer 1st breeder and now it's all about the mo ey. FK the customer that helped them when they were little cause we got their name out there and they'll get 10x more unsuspecting customers. How they can sell 100s of seeds to Chef Anna for him to spike prices rather than have the store open for us cause they don't want to pack as much orders or part with some of the $$$ to hire proper help is trash. Just gotta accet it for what it is at this point. I've got 300+ seeds and over 45 of their strains. Most people this far in would be fan bois and defend them to the death. I'm just being real on what i see. Great genetics, shammy ass money grabbing business.

For sure. I'm just saying that it seems silly when most people order something they already have or just like the most available to get these freebies. They will not be stable and when they are gone, they are gone. Very few freebies(Maybe 4 have come back as a limited strain) will ever be grown again so once you use them, you lose them.

Hey, not bashing the genes, I have over 300 of
beans, most every strain. Have been an entrepreneur for 30+ years, retired since 58. Know what I’m talking about. Treat your customer poorly at any level in the supply chain, and, I promise you, your day will come.
